Tutu Tuesday in Cowaramup, Western Australia

Hey gorgeous dancers and fashionistas! It’s your girl, Chloe here, bringing you all the latest on tutu trends and ballet vibes straight from the beautiful Margaret River region in Western Australia. Now, I know what you're thinking, Cowaramup? What's the go with that? Well, my friends, let me tell you, this little town is a hidden gem when it comes to creativity and style. And it’s no surprise to me, being the proud owner of my own little dance studio, that a community event like this would pop up!

Imagine, if you will, a bunch of us, all dressed in our most fabulous tutus, swirling and twirling through the main street of Cowaramup. Think ballet classics, vintage frocks, fluffy pouter tutus, and the ever-so-elegant pointe shoe – think Cinderella at the ball with a dash of disco glamour, basically! The vibe is absolutely electric. You know, I love those "anything goes" style moments, which we do have a lot of in Australia.

This is the third year running that Cowaramup has hosted Tutu Tuesday, and the atmosphere just gets better with each one. Locals gather, dressed up to the nines, with their tutus and their smiles on, creating a kaleidoscope of colour and movement. Not to mention the gorgeous backgrounds of this quirky town: the vibrant cafes, the whimsical galleries, the bustling local shops – all adorned in tutus. I swear, I could almost imagine a street art competition going down – "Who’s got the most outrageous Tutu"?!

There's something really magical about seeing so many people embracing their inner ballerina, regardless of their age, background, or dancing abilities. From tiny tots pirouetteing with their parents to seasoned dancers gracefully twirling, there's a sense of unity and celebration in the air. And let's not forget the laughter. There is so much laughter. Oh, it's contagious and everyone is involved.

My personal favourite? A little vintage "Giselle" number – delicate, lace-edged with an understated pink bow. But then again, there were the bold pouter tutus – those fabulous voluminous tulle numbers, some even embellished with sparkle and beads! I couldn't go past taking some inspiration from all of them. Now that's a tutu you can't miss! It's like wearing a fluffy pink cloud! The energy is electrifying, the costumes are a sight to behold, and the whole vibe is pure, unadulterated fun. It's what I'd call a #tututuesday extravaganza!

It’s more than just a dress-up event; it's a community coming together, sharing a passion for dance and spreading a little joy. It reminds me that ballet isn't just for those on stage; it's a language everyone can understand and participate in, no matter where you are or what you’re wearing.

So, to all the beautiful souls in Cowaramup, and everyone else who finds themselves wanting to participate, get your tutus on! Tutu Tuesday is a reminder that dance is for everyone, and it’s a testament to the magic of small town Aussie communities, bursting with creative energy and joy. Now, what kind of tutu will YOU wear?! #tututuesday #Cowaramup #WA
