Tutu Tuesday in Raworth, New South Wales, Australia: #tututuesday

G'day, darlings! It's your girl, Anya here, back with another instalment of my beloved Tutu Tuesday! Today, we're heading out to the sunny town of Raworth, New South Wales for a bit of tutu-tastic fun. Now, I know what you're thinking – "Raworth?! Seriously?". But trust me, even the smallest towns in Australia have a certain kind of charm, and Raworth is no exception. I’m always looking for ways to make ballet a bit more accessible for everyone, so bringing Tutu Tuesday out to the country was an absolute must.

So, what kind of tutus are we rocking in Raworth? We’re embracing a variety of styles, from classic romantic tutus with their soft tulle layers to the more contemporary and structured tutus, perfect for showcasing bold, dynamic movement. This isn’t about some rigid ballet competition rules. Tutu Tuesday is all about embracing self-expression, confidence and just having a laugh, even if it’s a little kooky!

One of the highlights of this Tutu Tuesday adventure was definitely our street performance. We gathered in the main square, which had to be the most picturesque little town square I've ever seen. We were blessed with perfect weather – just a touch of wind to keep our tutus swirling - and the locals really turned out for us, cheering us on with their cheeky Aussie humour. You’ve gotta love the enthusiasm of Aussies!

Of course, it wouldn't be a Tutu Tuesday without some great pics. We snapped shots in front of the iconic Raworth War Memorial, with its historic sandstone structure. It's such a powerful symbol of Australian heritage, and our tutus, in all their vibrant hues, seemed to bring a bit of playful spirit to the scene.

After our little performance, we did a tutu-themed scavenger hunt around town. We spotted our fellow Tutu Tuesday-ers at the local bakery – those yummy pastries in Raworth? To die for. Of course, a Tutu Tuesday photo-op with the bakery’s famous pineapple lamingtons, a local Aussie fave, had to be on the to-do list!

But Tutu Tuesday in Raworth wasn’t just about photoshoots and street performances. It was about connection, about connecting with the people of this lovely town. I want to highlight the incredible community spirit here, and we had such amazing interactions. It's so heartwarming to see how Tutu Tuesday inspires joy and laughter wherever it goes.

We even met this local young woman, Millie. Now, Millie loves ballet – just a budding little star. She told me that Tutu Tuesday made her feel "brave enough to dance like no one's watching" and she wanted to join in on the fun. I just love seeing how much it inspires people.

Look, if you’re ever out in the lovely region of New South Wales, give Raworth a go. I can guarantee it's full of charm, warmth and friendly smiles - not to mention stunning scenery! If you’re keen to give Tutu Tuesday a try, we’ll be spreading the Tutu love in another fabulous town in Australia very soon.
