Tutu Tuesday in Jurien Bay, Western Australia: A Dance with the Aussie Coast

#tututuesday

Gā€™day, dance lovers! It's your girl, Tilly here, back with another Tutu Tuesday ā€“ this time, weā€™re ditching the city streets for a beachy escape. You see, Jurien Bay is calling, and with its turquoise waters, white sandy shores, and an abundance of sunshine, I knew it was the perfect setting to twirl my way through another Tutu Tuesday adventure!

I love Tutu Tuesday for a million reasons. Firstly, it's a celebration of all things tutu ā€“ from the romantic, billowing tutus that dance like a dream, to the modern, asymmetrical designs that push boundaries and spark conversation. Secondly, Tutu Tuesday is about unleashing my inner ballerina wherever I go, and celebrating the magic of ballet beyond the studio. It's about finding the beauty in everyday moments, embracing a little bit of whimsy, and spreading a touch of artistic inspiration with each pirouette.

Jurien Bay, in Western Australia, is known for its spectacular natural beauty. The iconic Pinnacles Desert with its weathered limestone formations is just a short drive away. For a Tutu Tuesday, however, Jurien Bay's stunning coast line was the perfect canvas for a photo shoot. As I gazed at the vast expanse of blue ocean, the warm, golden sun, and the gentle breeze carrying the scent of the sea, my heart soared, and I felt that sense of exhilaration that only dancing in nature can give.

I opted for a classic, double-layered tulle tutu with a shimmering ombre effect, reflecting the colours of the sunset. The graceful swishes of the fabric mirrored the gentle waves, and I couldnā€™t help but smile as the breeze carried the skirtā€™s tulle across the sand, adding an extra layer of movement to each photo. A tutuā€™s movement really embodies that ballet ā€œfloat like a butterflyā€ style that we all know and love. But as I settled on my location by a cliff edge, I couldnā€™t help but ponder how the landscape changed with each sunrise, and sunset. Perhaps thatā€™s what brings me back to dance so often. Its evolution and the infinite interpretations available.

There is a strong community of passionate dancers in Australia. Every weekend, I love watching students from different backgrounds performing in showcases, eisteddfods, and more! Itā€™s inspiring to see so many young dancers embrace the beauty and discipline of the art. This vibrant energy really encapsulates the love for dance here.

A trip to Jurien Bay wouldn't be complete without experiencing its captivating underwater world. But I wasn't quite ready for the full-on diving experience ā€“ especially in a tutu. However, I still managed to sneak in a little underwater exploration. A graceful pose as I peered through the crystal-clear water, watching fish dart in and out of the coral reefs. I could see my tutu trailing in the current, mirroring the rhythmic sway of the aquatic life around me.

Tutu Tuesday in Jurien Bay proved to be more than just a photoshoot. It was a reminder that dance knows no boundaries, that art is everywhere, and that even in the midst of natural beauty, the spirit of ballet finds its own expression.

Here are some of my favourite highlights from my #tututuesday adventure in Jurien Bay:

  • **Finding the perfect spot on the cliff top, the ocean sprawling out before me, it truly felt like I was dancing on the edge of the world!**
  • **Getting creative with a ā€œtutu dipā€ by the shore, as I captured some truly unique shots that showed off my tutu against the sea and sand.**
  • **Having my little brother act as my photographer!** He is pretty good, for a teen with a mobile phone.
  • **Seeing so many other visitors at the Bay - some doing some dance moves, others simply inspired by the stunning location. The best part was being surrounded by people who appreciate a tutu, as much as I do!**
  • **Being one with the nature, whether it was swaying in the breeze or watching the marine life in the water, it really was a surreal experience!**

Jurien Bay proved to be a remarkable backdrop for Tutu Tuesday. It allowed me to capture a true sense of grace and wonder within nature's masterpiece. As I reflect on this adventure, it reminds me of the powerful link between dance and the beauty that surrounds us.

Jurien Bay - A hidden gem for Tutu Tuesdays, and for anyone looking to escape the ordinary and reconnect with their inner artist. Keep an eye on my socials for more #tututuesday fun ā€“ and, let's make every Tuesday a tutu day!
