Tutu Tuesday in Esk, Queensland
Hey lovelies! It’s your girl, Chloe here, bringing you the latest in tutu-tastic fashion straight from the heart of Queensland, or as we like to call it, the sunshine state!
Now, I know what you’re thinking: tutus in Esk? Really? But trust me, my fellow dance devotees, even the smallest towns can have big tutu dreams.
This past Tuesday, as part of my mission to spread the gospel of tutu joy far and wide, I took to the streets of Esk with my trusty camera and my very best twirling pose. (Okay, maybe just a twirl in my head, but you get the idea!)
My first stop was at the Esk General Store, a quirky little gem where they sell everything from handmade fudge to vintage clothing, it's practically a ballet dancer's dream come true! You see, Esk has this incredible thing going on - a true "keep it real" vibe that just oozes with charm, and this place captures it perfectly.
And while I couldn’t find a tutu per se, I did find a gloriously fluffy and bouncy tulle dress in a vibrant emerald green. Next, I cruised down the main street and stumbled upon the local bakery, with a warm, inviting smell that I couldn't resist. This little spot, Esk's famous "Taste of Tradition" bakery, has this awesome thing they do - they put up a display case in their front window full of handmade artisan breads, freshly baked cakes, and sweet little pies that looked like tiny edible ballerinas! It was like a wonderland for any dance lover and food enthusiast. I grabbed a perfectly shaped and beautifully decorated poppyseed roll (I know, kind of a cheat but you'll forgive me, right?) and I decided to continue my search for Esk’s best tutu.
It wasn’t long before I found myself standing outside of the iconic Esk Cultural Hall, an architectural masterpiece (no seriously!) with an art gallery right next door. Let’s be real, you can't get much more artsy and culturally inclined than that! Even though there weren’t any tutu vendors around, I had this sudden flashback - I remembered the school’s annual fundraising dinner was just held there! That means… tutus! I saw the ladies of the local drama group decked out in gorgeous pastel tulle dresses and flowing skirts during the performance, giving me major Tutu Tuesday inspiration! It was all I needed!
