Tutu Tuesday in Hamilton Island, Queensland: A Dancer's Paradise

G'day lovelies! It's your girl, Lily, back with another #tututuesday blog post. This week, I'm swapping the cobblestone streets of Melbourne for the pristine sands of Hamilton Island. Queensland, you beauty!

As a ballerina, you know life revolves around tutus. There's just something magical about swirling tulle and the feeling of a perfect, perfectly-fitted tutu. And you guys know I’m all about making a statement wherever I go – be it on stage or a sunny tropical island.

I decided to bring my signature #tututuesday celebration to the Whitsundays this time, a place that embodies elegance and beauty, just like my love for tutus. You see, for me, a tutu isn't just about ballet, it's about self-expression, freedom, and embracing my inner princess. And let me tell ya, there’s no better way to feel like a princess than lounging on a pristine beach, sipping a fruity cocktail and feeling the sun on my skin.

For my Hamilton Island #tututuesday, I decided to channel some serious vacation vibes with a romantic, flowing **tutu**. It's got layers of soft tulle, with delicate sequins scattered like starlight. A real fairy-tale number!

Speaking of fairy tales, this island is pure magic. The water's so clear and blue you feel like you're swimming in a giant jewel, and the white sands…well, let's just say, they put my tutu to shame when it comes to looking pristine.

Now, my #tututuesday adventures on Hamilton Island involved more than just soaking up the sun, y'know. I took a boat trip to the beautiful Whitehaven Beach, the sand so fine it felt like powder beneath my toes. The views were breathtaking! Imagine, a breathtaking vista, and a tutu twirling in the wind...Pure bliss, let me tell ya.

Here are a few things you should check out in Hamilton Island, Queensland. I'm a massive foodie, so the deliciousness was a huge plus. The views? Absolutely top-notch, obviously.

  • Dine at the Hamilton Island Yacht Club: Treat yourself to a sunset dinner while overlooking the marina and all the beautiful yachts.
  • Catch a performance at the Hamilton Island Theatre: They often have fantastic shows by travelling artists – think cabaret, comedy, music and more!
  • Explore the markets: If you're into art, crafts and finding unique gifts, the local markets are the spot to be. You’ll find lots of hand-crafted pieces made by talented local artisans.
  • Snorkel or dive: Hamilton Island is famous for its incredible underwater world! I took a boat trip out to the Great Barrier Reef - such a bucket list experience. It was like a scene from a documentary but better!

In between my #tututuesday beach escapades and island exploration, I made sure to find some time for a proper ballet workout. It’s all about keeping that dancer’s edge! So I even had a little ballet class by the beach, thanks to a private tutor I found locally. With the sun shining and the sea breeze on my skin, it was one of the most memorable workouts ever!

The world of ballet has a big and exciting presence here in Australia. Whether it's in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, or here in sunny Queensland, we have vibrant dance communities. The #tututuesday love extends beyond the stage – it’s about embracing beauty, elegance and freedom. And what better place to do all that than at a paradise like Hamilton Island?

If you're planning your next Aussie getaway, I recommend adding Hamilton Island to your list. It’s truly magical. I might even pop by your local ballet studio or performance one day – follow me to keep up with my moves!

Catch you next time, lovelies. Until then, remember, life’s a ballet, and we’re all in our own tutus!
