Mollymook, NSW: Tutu Tuesday: A Dance Through the Sand Dunes
Hey darlings, It's Tutu Tuesday again, and today, I'm taking my twirls right to the heart of Mollymook's beautiful coastline! The sun is shining, the sand is sparkling, and my tulle is ready to be whipped into a flurry by the ocean breeze. I'm talking about a true Tutu Tuesday fiesta!
As a professional ballerina, my world revolves around dance and all things tutu. You know, it's hard not to be in love with a garment that embodies grace and femininity like a tutu does. But what makes this Tuesday even more special is the freedom to celebrate it in a location as breathtaking as Mollymook.
From the dramatic cliffs to the pristine beaches, every corner of Mollymook breathes elegance. It's no surprise that this little gem of a town has captured the hearts of many a dancer, myself included.
For this Tutu Tuesday, I'm wearing a classic, romantic style tutu, the kind with multiple layers of soft, flowy tulle that makes you feel like a whimsical fairy. I have opted for a shorter tutu - a romantic **tutu de pointe**, designed for my barefoot steps through the sand! A timeless black ribbon tied at the waist adds a touch of sophistication. With this kind of tutu, a bit of movement can be magical. The way the light dances through the layers, casting subtle shadows, creating movement even while standing still… pure bliss!
I mean, wouldn't it be lovely to dance in the heart of paradise with a piece of fabric that embodies grace and elegance, especially when it is just a short drive from the South Coast's other delights like Jervis Bay. There's something so whimsical about twirling in the sunshine, feeling the sand between your toes, with a breeze blowing through your tutu, isn't there? It's like stepping out of a fairytale and into your own personal ballerina world.
Today, I'm showing my love for both ballet and my love for our beautiful Aussie coastline. If you find yourself in Mollymook, come dance with me, but just a gentle reminder that sand and tutus don’t mix. So be warned!

- My first stop? A photo shoot in front of Mollymook's famous lighthouse. Picture this: The white-washed tower against the endless blue, with my tutu billowing in the breeze – sheer photographic poetry. I am totally posting this!
- Next, I'm venturing onto the beach, not for a swim, darling! That sand is definitely a tutu spoiler, but to catch the breathtaking waves, let's just say the camera loves the contrast!
- And of course, no trip to Mollymook would be complete without exploring the charming cafes and boutiques in the town centre. And it would be wrong of me not to check out the art gallery. Tutu Tuesday needs some inspiration!
