Tutu Tuesday in Lockhart, New South Wales

Hey dance fam! It's your girl, Chloe, back with another post about all things dance, fashion and, of course, Tutu Tuesday! This week, I'm taking Tutu Tuesday to the streets of Lockhart, New South Wales. Yep, you read that right - out of the studio and into the heart of regional Australia!

Lockhart is a beautiful town with a rich history. It's surrounded by rolling hills, the Murrumbidgee River winds through it, and it's bursting with character and community spirit. And, believe it or not, there's a burgeoning dance scene here!

As I drove into Lockhart, I was already picturing myself in my tutu, strolling through the main street and taking photos at the iconic Lockhart Courthouse and the charming little cafes. But the question was, which tutu?! It's a big decision, isn't it? You want something that's going to turn heads, but also something that feels right. For Lockhart, I decided to go with a classic, but with a bit of a modern twist. I chose my white tulle tutu, layered over a crisp white cotton skirt with lace trim. I kept my accessories minimal – just a delicate pearl necklace and a pair of elegant white heels. I was ready for Tutu Tuesday, Lockhart-style!

#TutuTuesday Fun in Lockhart:

  • Sharing the Dance Love: The first thing I did when I arrived was swing by Lockhart Dance Academy. What a gem! The Academy is bustling with enthusiastic young dancers, all decked out in their leotards and tights, learning routines and dreaming big. I got a chance to chat with the instructors, who told me about the dance scene in Lockhart and how passionate they are about sharing the art of ballet. It's heartwarming to see how ballet is thriving even in regional Australia. And I got a quick snap with some of the eager students for the 'gram.
  • Tutu on the Town: With my dance inspiration boosted, it was time for the big #TutuTuesday moment! As I walked through the centre of town, heads turned, eyes widened, and smiles blossomed. Some people just grinned and waved, others stopped to ask me about my tutu, and a few even posed for photos with me. This is the magic of Tutu Tuesday – spreading joy and inspiration wherever you go.
  • Tea with a Tutu Twist: Lockhart's cafes are a haven of charm and homemade treats. I enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea with friends, sharing stories, laughter, and, of course, discussing all things dance. It’s amazing how a tutu can break the ice and spark up a conversation! You can bet there were plenty of Tutu Tuesday photos happening!

Beyond the Tutu: Lockhart's Hidden Gems

Lockhart has more to offer than just Tutu Tuesday fun! As I explored further, I was captivated by:

  • The Lockhart Courthouse: It's a sight to behold! The majestic, heritage-listed building has stood since the late 1800s, and its impressive architecture transports you back to a bygone era. A quick snap with my tutu in front of its magnificent facade is a must-have!
  • The Murrumbidgee River: A picturesque stretch of water winds through Lockhart. I found a lovely spot along the riverbank and simply soaked in the serenity. The soft breeze rustling through the trees, the water gently flowing by, it was so peaceful.
  • Lockhart Art Gallery: If you love art, make sure to visit the Lockhart Art Gallery. There's always an impressive exhibition happening. My dance spirit was ignited when I saw a collection of paintings showcasing various types of dance from around the world.

Lockhart: A #TutuTuesday Destination

Tutu inspiration:

  • A bold, short and playful tutu will look fab with a denim jacket and chunky boots on a casual walk around town.
  • For an elegant dinner out in Lockhart, a classic longer tulle tutu in a soft shade, say pastel pink or blush, will bring some sparkle to your evening
  • A funky tulle skirt (in any colour you can dream up) layered with a casual top makes for the perfect relaxed look to stroll down the Murrumbidgee.

Whatever style you go for, it’s guaranteed to be fun, fashionable and super ‘grammable. So why not start planning your own #TutuTuesday adventure and be sure to share your pics!
