Tutu Tuesday in Margaret River, Western Australia #tututuesday

Hey everyone, it's your girl, Chloe, back with another Tutu Tuesday blog post! This time, I'm taking you all on a whirlwind tour of my favourite place in the world: Margaret River, Western Australia. Now, you might be thinking, "Chloe, what on earth is a ballet dancer doing in Margaret River? Isn't it all wineries and surf?"

And you'd be right, but you see, there's so much more to Margaret River than meets the eye. The region is bursting with creative energy, with artists, musicians, and performers dotted all over the place. It's like the creative side of the universe decided to make this place its home base, and I'm totally here for it.

This week's Tutu Tuesday was all about exploring the artistic heart of Margaret River. I wanted to showcase the region's unique blend of creativity and natural beauty, so I took my inspiration from the stunning landscape. Think lush forests, rugged coastlines, and, of course, those iconic vineyards. My trusty tulle companions for the day were a combination of romantic and earthy styles. I opted for a soft blush-toned tutu that resembled the delicate blooms of wildflowers and paired it with a fitted forest green leotard, bringing the colour of the gumtrees to life. Later on, I donned a shorter, layered tulle tutu that brought to mind the crashing waves of the Indian Ocean. It flowed with the wind, just like the ocean, and I couldn't resist striking a few poses as the sun set over the dramatic cliffs.

Speaking of striking poses, my adventure started with a visit to the Margaret River Sculpture Park. Nestled amongst towering trees, it's a haven for contemporary art installations. I wandered around the park, marvelling at the abstract shapes and forms, feeling the artistic energy humming all around me. It was like the sculptures themselves were ready to take the stage, and I was the dancer waiting to perform. The park was also home to the Margaret River Buskers Festival, and the energy was electrifying. Musicians, acrobats, and street performers poured their souls into their art, drawing a diverse crowd of captivated onlookers. My inner artist was brimming with excitement and admiration, and the inspiration was starting to pour into my own performance.

Next, I ventured down to the stunning coastline. It was a beautiful day for a dance by the sea. As I moved with the wind, the waves lapping at the shore, the ocean’s boundless energy fuelled my every step. The sun bathed everything in its warm golden glow, setting the stage for a captivating show of my own. You know I can’t resist a little impromptu photoshoot while on my adventures. I was so mesmerized by the power and beauty of the ocean that I spent a good chunk of time just capturing the moments. Let's be honest, any opportunity for a beautiful photo with a stunning natural backdrop is a golden opportunity, and I'm never going to miss it!

As the day drew to a close, I treated myself to a classic Margaret River experience: a delicious wine tasting at one of the region’s famous wineries. It’s no surprise that this place is world-renowned for its wine – I indulged in some local blends and enjoyed the flavours and textures of each. The experience wasn't all about the wine, though, because a glass of Chardonnay and a good dance session is a perfect match in my book. I slipped on a lighter, airy, champagne-toned tutu, letting it float in the air with every graceful movement. In the dappled sunlight of the vineyard, the tulle shimmered and danced like champagne bubbles. It felt like an elegant, celebratory finish to an incredible Tutu Tuesday.

Here are some highlights from my day:

  • A gorgeous floral tutu in blush tones, echoing the delicate wildflowers.
  • A short, layered tutu that swayed in the wind, reminiscent of the waves of the Indian Ocean.
  • A chic champagne-toned tutu, perfect for celebrating the magic of Margaret River's wineries.

Overall, Tutu Tuesday in Margaret River was all about celebrating the creativity that courses through the veins of this beautiful place.
