Tutu Tuesday in Red Cliffs, Victoria: A Whirlwind of Frills and Feathers

Hey gorgeous! It’s your girl, Tilly, back with another dose of fashion-meets-dance. And this time, we’re bringing the magic of #Tututuesday right to the heart of Victoria: Red Cliffs! Yep, you heard that right! This tiny town is a hidden gem for tutu lovers.

So, here I am, perched atop a rusty vintage truck with a killer view of the Red Cliffs – those magnificent, crimson rock formations. As a ballet dancer in Melbourne, I’ve danced under the spotlight of some of the biggest stages, but honestly, I think this might be the most spectacular setting of them all. The colours! The texture! This outback beauty, paired with the classic, yet timeless charm of the tutu, creates an almost otherworldly atmosphere.

The vibe today is about more than just dancing though. It's about a celebration of a classic and a modern spirit. We've got our fair share of traditionally romantic tutus, a graceful swirl of white tulle and feather boa, which adds that extra touch of theatre. Then there are the playful and unexpected – think pastel-hued, modern styles, like the multi-layered ones with whimsical ribbons, and the sassy black tulle tutus that embody both rebellion and glamour.

Speaking of tutus and their evolution, you guys have GOT to check out the #Tututuesday style at the Red Cliffs Art Gallery. The artist here, Lily May, is exhibiting a unique collection inspired by ballerinas and the story behind tutus, creating a visual symphony that’s captivating and thought-provoking.

As we take a wander down the main street, we can’t help but be drawn to the vintage boutique, “Ballerina Belle.” Now, this shop isn’t a typical high street store, it’s like stepping into a magical vintage box with a beautiful, curated collection of ballerinas’ treasures. Here, among vintage lace dresses, sequined handbags, and the most divine hats I’ve ever seen, lies a glorious selection of pre-loved tutus, waiting to be given a new life! It’s all about giving these little fashion bombshells another shot at stealing the show!

We can't forget to mention the real stars of this #Tututuesday adventure – the local community! From the café owners rocking their signature tutus, serving up the most incredible coffee and pastries, to the little ballerinas twirling in their vibrant tutus during their after-school dance class, there's a tutu spirit in the air.

And, if you’re in the mood for a little dance magic, I hear they're doing a 'Ballet Under the Stars' event at the Red Cliffs Hotel – a perfect way to cap off your day and soak up the vibrant energy that makes #Tututuesday so unique.

So, for anyone seeking adventure, style, and a unique glimpse into the Aussie outback heart, head on over to Red Cliffs this #Tututuesday! Let the wind blow through your hair, the outback sunshine warm your skin, and your love for tutus take over. See you there, lovelies!
