G'day lovelies! It's your girl, Lily, back with another #TutTuesday blog post, straight from the dusty heart of the Northern Territory! This week, I decided to bring my tutus on an adventure to the incredible McMinns Lagoon, just a hop, skip and jump from the bustling (well, relatively bustling) city of Katherine. This place is straight out of a dream! With towering red cliffs, sparkling clear water, and an abundance of native wildlife, it's hard not to be inspired. I felt like I'd stepped into a scene from a classic Australian film - the sun, the dust, the vastness, the stories whispered by the land.
But enough about the landscape (though seriously, McMinns Lagoon is just stunning). I gotta tell ya about my Tutu Tuesday outfits. Now, I usually go for a classic, romantic look, all flowing chiffon and shimmering tulle. But this time, I went a bit more rugged! I had a vision of myself leaping and pirouetting through the outback, like a modern-day Beryl Grey (Google her, she was a ballet legend!), in a bold, sporty tutu. It had to be light and easy to move in, and a colour that popped against the earthy hues of the red cliffs. So, I pulled out my favourite piece - a striking scarlet tutu with a simple, yet elegant, design. It had this beautiful asymmetrical cut with a layered skirt that swirled and danced around my legs like a red dust devil. Seriously, it looked like a masterpiece in motion!
As I gazed out at the rugged landscape, my tutu reflecting the crimson colours of the sunset, it felt like a perfect fusion of elegance and adventure. This kind of Tutu Tuesday is what I live for! I believe every tutu deserves to be unleashed in the wild - whether you're pirouetting through a bustling city or traversing a red dirt landscape. Don't be afraid to take your tutu to places it hasn't been before. Who knows what inspiring landscapes it might find, and what magical photos it might create!
