Now, if you're a ballet buff like me, you know that a tutu is more than just a frilly piece of fabric. It's an embodiment of grace, elegance, and pure artistry. But don't let anyone tell you a tutu has to be worn in a grand ballet theatre, because I'm here to tell you – tutus belong everywhere, especially in a place as vibrant and stunning as Manjimup.
This week, my Tutu Tuesday adventure took me to the heart of Manjimup. Picture this: a picturesque countryside town brimming with life, where lush green hills meet the azure sky and the air smells sweet with the scent of blooming wildflowers. For this occasion, I donned a beautiful pastel pink tulle tutu. The multiple layers of soft pink tulle flowed like a waterfall, perfectly complimenting the idyllic landscape of my surroundings. It's almost as if it was meant to be, you know?
First stop was the Manjimup Farmers Market. It's a whirlwind of colours, smells, and textures. Think juicy mangoes, fragrant herbs, homemade jams and freshly baked breads - every corner offers a unique taste of Aussie country life. And wouldn't you know it? There was this charming local florist, overflowing with vibrantly coloured hydrangeas, carnations and lilies. Let’s just say my pink tutu and the bouquet of flowers was an absolute sight. I couldn't help but twirl and twirl under the afternoon sun, and people seemed to love the show! It's not every day you see a tutu twirling through the farmers market.
As I meandered through the market, I stopped by a stall showcasing handmade pottery. And how could I resist adding a bit of 'Tutu Tuesday magic' to that space? After all, everyone deserves a little dose of ballerina flair! With a graceful swirl of my pink tulle, I effortlessly blended the artistic pottery and the elegance of the tutu, transforming it into a miniature performance space, a testament to the versatility of my ballerina outfit.
And what's Tutu Tuesday without a visit to the stunning Manjimup Botanic Garden, a hidden gem with its cascading waterfalls and diverse flora. Honestly, you've got to experience it for yourself to really appreciate it. The beauty was captivating, so much so I even changed into a new tutu, this time opting for a classic white, a homage to the garden's immaculate whites, blues and yellows.
The botanical garden is like a stage waiting for an audience. A natural theatre! With a single, graceful step, the gardens were mine! The sun streaming through the canopy of leaves, creating dazzling shafts of light across the vibrant flowers. There were butterflies dancing around me and a few surprised visitors who didn’t see me approach as I floated through the serene scene!
To finish the day off, I headed to the nearby Blackwood River for a peaceful sunset picnic. Wearing a sparkling silver tutu, I enjoyed the breathtaking vista of the setting sun painting the sky in a tapestry of fiery hues. Let's be honest, every tutu deserves to experience a dazzling sunset at least once.
Tutu Tuesday isn’t just about rocking a tutu, it’s about expressing myself and celebrating the magic of my home state, Western Australia, one twirl at a time.
