Tutu Tuesday in Sandstone Point, Queensland, Australia

Hey everyone, it's your favourite tutu-obsessed Aussie ballet dancer, back with another post about Tutu Tuesday! Today I'm hitting the beach (well, actually the boardwalk) in Sandstone Point, Queensland, and let me tell you, this place is a haven for #tututuesday.

The beach vibe is just the perfect setting to twirl and feel the wind in your hair (and tutu). And speaking of tutus, I'm sporting my favourite classic white tulle number. The shorter skirt lets me move freely, and the soft, layered tulle creates such a graceful silhouette – ideal for capturing those beachside pics. It's a bit of a statement piece, but you know me, I always like to add a bit of "oomph" to my everyday outfits. Plus, I can't resist a good photo op when it comes to Tutu Tuesday.

But the beauty of Tutu Tuesday is its diversity. I've seen people wearing all kinds of tutus – from the traditional to the more contemporary designs. One lady I met was rocking a bold neon tutu with black leather accents. Talk about a unique take on Tutu Tuesday. There was a couple of young dancers from the local ballet school sporting gorgeous romantic tutus – soft pinks and whites – making me long for the days of being in the ballet studio myself. And a guy who seemed totally unfazed about wearing a full-length black tutu with a pair of ripped jeans and sneakers! I thought it was amazing! He wasn’t dancing, though, just strutting his stuff with total confidence. That’s what Tutu Tuesday is all about.

The fact that everyone embraces Tutu Tuesday, from dancers to those who’ve never even taken a ballet class, really proves the power of fashion as a unifying force. It's like, everyone can have their own way of celebrating ballet and this unique art form.

If you’re looking for some fashion inspiration or just a reason to laugh and be yourself, then I encourage you to embrace your inner ballerina and join in on Tutu Tuesday! You can rock a tutu on the streets, at the beach, or even just at home! We're living in a world where everything is allowed, so wear what makes you feel comfortable and empowered, even if it's a tutu!

Here are some things I learned today, to make the most of your #tututuesday:

  • Embrace the wind! A light breeze can make your tutu dance around you, making for incredible pictures.
  • Pair your tutu with statement jewellery! Don’t shy away from statement earrings, big necklaces, and eye-catching bracelets to make your look even more fun.
  • Think outside the box! Tutu Tuesday is all about creativity. Don't be afraid to mix and match different styles, textures and colors.
  • And last, but certainly not least, have fun!
