Tutu Tuesday in Riddell, Victoria: A Dance Through the Days of Our Lives! #tututuesday

G'day, fashionistas! It's Tutu Tuesday, and I'm hitting the streets (or, shall I say, the studios) of Riddell, Victoria, with a whirl and twirl in my tutu. This week's Tutu Tuesday is all about celebrating the everyday magic of dance, especially ballet. From the classic Romantic tutus of Swan Lake to the sleek lines of a contemporary tutu in a piece by Graeme Murphy, ballet is an art form that sparks emotions, tells stories, and transports audiences to another world. And it's more accessible than you think, thanks to the growing number of studios springing up across Australia. I recently visited the Riddell Dance Academy – a hidden gem that's tucked away but offers a full program of ballet classes for students of all levels. The vibe was super welcoming, and the teachers were absolute legends! They encouraged us to express ourselves and pushed us to push ourselves. You might be thinking, "Tutus? Aren't those just for professional dancers?" Absolutely not! They're for anyone and everyone who wants to embrace the joy of movement, whether you're a seasoned pro or a curious beginner. Tutus come in so many styles. It's really just about finding the right fit. And who better to help than those local studios? So, why don't you ditch your heels for a day and embrace the spirit of Tutu Tuesday? Here are some ideas to get you started: • Grab your favourite tutu, dust it off, and wear it around town! You can pair it with a classic t-shirt for a casual look or dress it up with a blazer for a more sophisticated vibe. • Hit up a local ballet class! There are plenty of studios around, like the one I just visited in Riddell. They offer beginners' classes and drop-in options. You don't have to be an expert to give it a go. • If you're not feeling quite so adventurous, take a walk down the local library and check out a book on ballet. Or binge a ballet documentary. • If you want a more relaxed approach, spend a day browsing through images of your favourite tutus. We can always get a little creative inspiration on Pinterest, Insta or just the good ole web. Maybe find a pattern or design to try out yourself? That’s what I’m planning on doing next week… I'm already dreaming up a DIY tulle creation! And remember, Tutu Tuesday isn't about looking a certain way. It's about finding the joy and passion within you, no matter your style, shape, or skill level. Ballet can be whatever you make it. Get out there, move your body, and be your most awesome, expressive self! I'm also excited to announce a Tutu Tuesday Giveaway for one lucky follower. Head to my Instagram to find out more and enter. You can share your own Tutu Tuesday adventures using the hashtag #tututuesday and follow along with me on this exciting journey. Happy twirling, everyone! And don’t forget your dance shoes! And because we’re talking ballet in Australia, I can't end without giving a shout-out to the amazing Australian Ballet. They have been sharing the magic of ballet with us all since the 1960s and continue to tour across the country, inspiring dancers of all ages. You don't need to be in a formal theater to enjoy the spirit of ballet, and Riddell Victoria is the perfect spot to start. #tututuesday
