Tutu Tuesday in Logan Village, Queensland: A Celebration of #tututuesday and the Power of the Tutu
Hey gorgeous dance lovers! It's your girl, Ava here, and it’s Tutu Tuesday in Logan Village, Queensland, and I’m excited to share my passion for ballet and all things tutu!
This week I’m feeling extra inspired by the community spirit around Tutu Tuesday – it’s more than just wearing a tutu; it’s about embracing your inner ballerina, being bold and embracing your unique style. The tutu has such a powerful ability to bring us together! It’s about feeling confident and celebrating the beauty of dance.
This week I’m totally rocking a classic romantic tutu - you know the one – soft, flowy and layered. The tulle just swirls beautifully, and it reminds me of the grace and elegance of the classic ballets I used to love to watch at the Queensland Ballet.
As you know, the tutu is a huge part of ballet history. For those who don’t know, the tutu first emerged in the 1830s when Maria Taglioni, the queen of romantic ballet, made a groundbreaking debut on stage, wearing a shortened, floating, whimsical tutu. I mean could you imagine rocking a full, long, layered tutu on stage back then? What a pioneer!
Over the years, the tutu has evolved significantly. From the iconic romantic tutu, there is also the tight-fitting, short tutu that’s popular in modern ballet and the beautiful, flowing tutu with its multiple layers that you often see in classical ballets. Each tutu is uniquely beautiful and each style reflects a different stage of the evolution of ballet.
Now back to the #tututuesday vibe in Logan Village! We’ve got a fantastic community here who love to get behind celebrating all things ballet! This week I saw so many creative, sparkling tutus – even some fun, homemade ones that I loved! One of my favourite moments was seeing a group of little girls spinning and twirling in their pastel coloured tutues while their parents cheered. It was like a scene straight out of a ballet! And this is what #tututuesday is all about: embracing the beauty of dance and inspiring the next generation.
Here in Logan Village we’re blessed with some great dance studios which really contribute to our love of all things dance! And the best part is, they’re not just focused on the classical styles - there are some awesome hip hop, contemporary and even jazz classes too!
It’s great to see how much ballet is loved here! There’s a lot of passion and talent in Logan Village and it makes me excited for the future of ballet in Australia! I love to see the passion, creativity and talent that #tututuesday brings out in our community.
Now, I’m off to grab a cuppa (that’s tea for all you non-Australians), and get ready for a fabulous week! Keep an eye out on my Instagram for some snaps of my next Tutu Tuesday outfits!
Stay beautiful! xx
