Tutu Tuesday in Maddingley, Victoria #tututuesday

G'day lovelies! It's your favourite ballerina and tutu-enthusiast here, ready to take you on a spin through the world of tutus in Maddingley, Victoria! Today, it's all about Tutu Tuesday – that magical day when the world becomes a little bit brighter and we all embrace our inner ballerina. And trust me, in Maddingley, you'll be surrounded by a sea of tulle and feathers, even if you don't have a pointe shoe in sight.

Now, let's talk tutus. From the classic, romantic, "tutu de pointe" with its multiple layers of stiff tulle to the whimsical, flowy, "tutu romantic" and the modern, "tutu contemporary," that's sleek and edgy. I’ve been eyeing off a fab new "tutu de pointe" – the type they wear at the Australian Ballet in Melbourne. So fancy, but perhaps not for a Maddingley picnic! Haha!

Let me give you a peek into what made my heart skip a beat on this week's #tututuesday in Maddingley:

  • The Local Ballerinas: Firstly, there was little Sarah – she was wearing a tutu of pink net, a tutu romantic, with a silver sparkly top. You can see that Sarah loves her ballet in Maddingley! Her pirouettes and grand jetés were the absolute picture of joy and passion, radiating such pure bliss.
  • A Tutu Picnic: Now, here is a must-do Maddingley experience, Tutu Picnic! I mean, you gotta get that gorgeous pink fluffy fabric of a "tutu romantic" all over those delicious cheese and crackers!
  • The Tutu Art Exhibition: In the Maddingley Hall, an entire exhibit showcasing the creativity of the community and highlighting their love of dance and all its forms – with an added “Tutu Twist” (that was the actual title!). They used fabric, glitter, lights - even repurposed ballet shoes! My favourite was a gigantic "tutu de pointe," made entirely of vintage ribbons. Truly stunning.
  • Tutu Inspired Outfits: Who says you have to be wearing a ballet tutu? No, no! Every single shopfront I walked by – the local café, the butchers, the bakery (where I enjoyed a delicious apple turnover and a “Tutu Twirl” hot chocolate!) - even the flower shop and petrol station all had a playful tulle and sparkle to them.
  • A "Tutu De Pointe" in The Gardens: Right beside the community garden - guess what I saw?! Yep, there was an actual "tutu de pointe," on display, and it was glorious! It was crafted entirely from local flowers, herbs and, wait for it – green beans (gotta love a touch of veggie couture)! The sheer artistry on display really took my breath away.

It was a pure explosion of tulle and whimsy! It seems that this beautiful little town embraces life with a splash of tutu-themed magic. So remember, there is always a chance to turn your day into Tutu Tuesday, and not just in Maddingley! #tututuesday
