Tutu Tuesday in Mossman, Queensland

G’day, darlings! It's your girl, Chloe here, back with another #tututuesday. Today, we're dancing our way through the tropics in the gorgeous town of Mossman, Queensland.

Now, let's get real, tutus aren't exactly practical attire for the Queensland heat, but who says fashion can't be fun? And let's be honest, what's more fabulous than rocking a tulle masterpiece against the backdrop of the rainforest? This is my chance to break free from the "practical" and just have some fun.

First, a little bit about Mossman itself. This town is absolutely bursting with character. The rainforest backdrop adds a touch of magic to every corner. You’ve got those lush green vines, cascading waterfalls, and those soaring trees – all giving off some seriously bohemian vibes.

For today’s #tututuesday style, I wanted to keep it light and breezy, like a warm summer breeze whispering through the rainforest. We're not talking those stiff, traditional tutus. Instead, I opted for a playful and modern approach - something flowing, ethereal, and perfect for showcasing my Aussie swagger.

I'm all about versatility these days. That’s why I decided on a tulle skirt with a romantic floral pattern - perfect for throwing on over denim shorts or a sleek, body-fitting jumpsuit. Speaking of, I’ve found this divine shop tucked away in a laneway that does the best, bespoke tutus! Honestly, I haven’t found such variety and detail on anything else – think: layered tulles, ombre shading and delicate beading - it’s seriously couture.

I chose a blush pink tulle skirt - not only is it a beautiful, delicate colour against the vibrant green of the rainforest, it reflects that modern take on ballet – the colour's becoming more and more popular, and we're definitely seeing more diverse colours used in tutus nowadays. You'll see the full outfit – complete with blush-coloured stilettos (a must in my opinion) and an ethereal white top – later on in my post, darlings.

After the rainforest photo shoot, I treated myself to a delicious lunch at one of Mossman's local cafes. I’m a firm believer in supporting local businesses. I grabbed a refreshing mango smoothie and a croissant. Now, who wouldn't want a sweet treat with a killer rainforest view?

Now, a little reflection about my journey in ballet and finding my love for dance. The dance world in Australia can be pretty competitive - you've got everyone wanting a spot on that stage, you know? However, there is also a supportive, strong community out there for everyone, whether they're dancing professionally or just starting out. The most important thing for me is to share that love of movement. I wouldn’t be a fashion-loving ballet dancer in a rainforest if I hadn’t found that love for movement.

I’m hoping to see more and more people joining the #tututuesday movement, both here in Queensland and around the globe. Why should a little fun and fashion be limited to a certain day? Honestly, everyday can be #tututuesday if you choose to make it. So, whether you're rocking a tutu at the beach, at the local cafe, or even at work – keep dancing to the rhythm of your own drum. Let’s spread a little sunshine and tutus through every part of the world!

For all the aspiring ballet dancers out there – follow your passion! Keep chasing your dreams! You might even stumble across a local ballet studio, just like I did, while I was visiting family!

Now, don't forget to stay tuned to see those breathtaking pictures from my day in the rainforest! As always, you can find them on my blog, where you can get the latest #tututuesday news! Until next time, darlings, keep dancing and stay fabulous!
