Broulee, New South Wales, Australia: Tutu Tuesday Down Under
G'day lovelies!
It’s your favourite day of the week again - **Tutu Tuesday!**
Today I'm embracing the tutu in a beautiful spot here in Broulee, New South Wales. I’ve got to tell ya, being a dancer, there's something special about wearing a tutu; it instantly puts you in a twirling mood! But have you noticed that tutus have seriously stepped up their game lately? They’re not just about classic pink anymore - think intricate beading, vibrant colours, and even those daringly short ones! Talk about fashion meets function, right?
Now, we're known for our laid-back Aussie vibe here in Broulee, and the vibe of Tutu Tuesday is no different. Forget all that serious stuff you see in the ballet world! It's about embracing the playful, the whimsical, and even a bit of sass. I love how it reminds us that dancing is for everyone, no matter what shape or size, or what type of tutu you prefer!
Whether it’s a romantic tulle masterpiece for a big event, or a playful, simple cotton number for casual kicks on the beach - I am all about letting the tutu set the mood!
Tutu Types to Love
Here in Australia, we're definitely in love with a variety of tutu styles:
  • **Romantic Tulle:** It’s all about dreamy layers of soft tulle, a ballerina’s best friend, with its floaty, romantic style that lets you glide like a swan! It can take your look to another level whether you’re twirling at a cocktail party, strolling through the local markets, or just wanting to make a statement on a Friday night!
  • **Modern Minimalism:** A new kind of chic that lets you channel your inner rockstar - Think sharp lines, bold fabrics, and an edgy silhouette. It's great for a contemporary look, or to express your own unique style in everyday outfits! It's all about making a statement with less, and rocking that minimalist look.
  • **Bohemian Beauty:** Inspired by nature, free spirits and endless summers – the boho tutu adds a playful and dreamy vibe with it’s lace, fringe, and layers of textured fabrics, evoking an earthy, artistic vibe that's super versatile. Dress it up or dress it down!
  • **Everyday Style:** It's all about keeping things simple, functional, and fun. For these ones, cotton is my go-to for those carefree days out! These come in different shapes and colours and let me feel comfortable while staying true to my tutu loving soul! I love pairing my tutu with denim shorts or my favourite pair of ripped jeans. And don't forget the sandals or sneakers, gotta stay comfy when you’re embracing the Aussie life!
  • **Extravagant Glam:** Get ready for a night out and all things glittery! I’m talking sequined fabric, feathers, sparkles and an undeniable sense of ‘extra’. For special events, weddings or even just a night at the theatre, these types make the perfect statement and make me feel like the leading lady!

Ballet in Australia - The Story Continues
Of course, the tutu is a key symbol of the art of ballet and ballet is big in Australia! Here we are seeing amazing performances by ballerinas and the ballet community growing. From Melbourne, Sydney and right through to Perth - there are lots of great ballet schools, theatres, and opportunities to see amazing performances. It’s exciting to see ballets getting fresh new perspectives and reimagining of classic works by Australian artists.
