Tutu Tuesday in Sutton, New South Wales: A Celebration of Whimsy and Dance
Okay, so I’m a little obsessed with tutus. I mean, who isn’t, right? There’s just something so magical about that swirl of tulle. It makes you feel like you’re a princess from a fairy tale – and let’s face it, every girl needs a bit of princess in her life!
Anyway, that’s why I’m all about #tututuesday – because what’s better than celebrating our love for these dancey beauties with the world? Plus, let’s face it, any excuse to put on a tulle skirt and twirl is a good one!
So, this week, I’m rocking a classic romantic tutu. The kind you’d see on a ballerina in Swan Lake, it’s made from layers of soft tulle and has a beautiful, delicate floral design that’s perfect for a springtime stroll. It’s got that classic ballerina look and it just feels like a dream to wear. And it’s not just about the tulle either, you know. A great tutu can be a statement piece that elevates any outfit, so I’m using this as inspiration for my entire outfit today! Pairing it with my new ankle boots (the ultimate autumnal shoe), a bright blue sweater (to add a pop of colour), and some sleek earrings that make me feel like a real-life princess. Because why not?
There’s a great bunch of tutu styles around at the moment and I am spoilt for choice - I'm particularly eyeing off the latest collection by "Twirl Dreams". It has everything from traditional to contemporary and there’s something for everyone, whatever your style. I can see myself adding the cute little blush-coloured tutus in their “ballet bunny” line to my next shopping spree. They’re perfect for adding a touch of whimsical sweetness to an everyday look – like, imagine the photos you could get wearing that with your favourite oversized jumper and denim jacket. Imagine the amazing Instagram feed, guys. Anyway, if you're in Sydney (or in Australia, really - but let’s give Sutton some love!), come say hey at the ‘Studio 7 Dance Academy’ for a beginner ballet class! There are so many beautiful tutus to see around the dance studio! Maybe we could even have a Tutu Tuesday pop up in there, I think it would be brilliant! We Aussies really are making some serious waves in the ballet world, both for our dancing and in terms of fashion - I reckon the ‘Dancing With A Twist’ collective at the “Studio 7” is killing it. It's awesome to see them really embracing their own style in ballet! A mix of classic lines and super funky, modern interpretations that have the full “girl power” attitude, and even a cool tutu and streetwear fusion line with their “Tulle Trend" pieces - and who could resist a good Tutu Tuesday dance battle! I could even wear my latest outfit from “The Tutu Shop”, because it's like stepping out of a ballerina fairytale with it’s super voluminous ‘fluffy’ design in shimmering lilac that’s definitely made for dancing! Don't be shy about wearing one on your daily adventures. Rock it with confidence - show everyone you’ve got your own ballerina spirit shining! #tututuesday #Sutton #NSW So, whether you're a professional dancer or just a casual twirler, I encourage you to join the Tutu Tuesday fun! We’ll see you at our next studio meeting, where I am dreaming we have some live entertainment from our favourite dancers, including a Tutu Tuesday ballet themed runway. It will be spectacular!
