Tutu Tuesday in Boorowa, New South Wales

Gā€™day from your gal, Chloe, here, back again with another installment of Tutu Tuesday, bringing you the best in ballet fashion (and let's face it, a bit of cheeky gossip from the Aussie dance scene!)

Boorowa, New South Wales! Oh my god, I'm obsessed with this charming little town! Who would've thought the home of the Boorowa Show and, uh, that amazing Boorowa Silo Art mural, could be a haven for tutu fashion enthusiasts like myself? You know, while the Tutu Tuesday scene in Sydney can get pretty serious, thereā€™s a whole different vibe in the countryside, like everyoneā€™s just so excited about ballet and the whole 'ballet as art' thing.

This week's Tutu Tuesday got me all hot under the collar - not in a bad way, I swear! This one was all about those romantic tulle designs, think a vintage vibe with the extra volume.

Firstly, we gotta talk about those beautiful 'poule' tutus, they're such a classic but so adaptable, perfect for a day at the gallery or a dinner out (yeah, a ballerina has got to stay chic!). Then there's those "Romantic" tutus - you know, the kind with layers upon layers of fluffy, soft tulle. That one got my creative juices flowing ā€“ you could style those up or down so easily!

Now, there's always a challenge in choosing the perfect tutu for your body type, but hereā€™s where Boorowa's tutu game was different. You know how sometimes a store can feel intimidating, like it's for pros or something? Thatā€™s not the vibe here. Thereā€™s something so empowering about seeing the older ladies dancing in those tulle wonders, even the more conservative designs, like a little ā€˜peasantā€™ skirt with a few strategically placed ruffles - absolutely divine!

Anyway, letā€™s dive into some tips to help you rock Tutu Tuesday, even if you're a tutu virgin, (because we all gotta start somewhere, right?).

Firstly, donā€™t be afraid of the ā€˜fluffy' thing! If your vibe is ā€œboldā€ or ā€œstatement,ā€ think about going all out on the tulle! Like, full-on dramatic, "I'm ready for the spotlight" kind of vibes. For those with a more toned-down style, think about incorporating tulle as an accessory - maybe a tiny scarf with your favourite dress? You can go so many different directions!

Honestly, thereā€™s something special about seeing a tutu out in the wild. For me, it brings me back to the memories of those long nights at rehearsals - all that work, all that passion for dance and movementā€¦it's a whole thing.

Oh! One last thing ā€“ a Boorowa resident threw the best ā€œTutu Tuesday tea partyā€ - complete with homemade scones (amazing!) and an actual tutu-themed performance by the Boorowa Ballet Society! These dancers, I gotta tell ya, they were fire! They made the 'classical' styles look so edgy and fresh.

Overall, I give Tutu Tuesday in Boorowa a solid ten out of ten. And you can bet your tutu I'll be back for another dose of Boorowa charm.
