Tutu Tuesday in Colo Vale, New South Wales #tututuesday

G'day, lovelies! It's your girl, Chloe, here, back with another #tututuesday post. Today we're waltzing over to the quaint little town of Colo Vale in the heart of New South Wales. Nestled amongst rolling hills and eucalyptus forests, Colo Vale is an unexpected haven for ballet lovers (and tutu enthusiasts like myself!).

Now, I know what you're thinking – ballet in Colo Vale? Really? But hear me out, darlings. It’s all about finding beauty in the most unexpected places, and that's exactly what I found at the Colo Vale Community Hall. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney, it's a gem of a space that plays host to all sorts of local activities, including a pretty special ballet class that meets every Tuesday!

The class, run by the lovely Miss Fiona, is a perfect blend of tradition and innovation. We're talking about those beautiful, classic tutus you can picture on a prima ballerina – the tulle flowing like a gentle breeze. I love the elegance of a traditional tutu; a simple, timeless design that oozes graceful movement. But the real highlight? It's not just one type of tutu – they experiment with all sorts. Sometimes we’re wearing the slightly shorter, romantic style tutu with a flirty frill, which I think adds a beautiful sense of playful movement to every step. Other times it's the longer, sweeping design that creates this gorgeous, airy look on stage – just perfect for those sweeping arabesques!

I'll be honest – I’m completely smitten with the vibrant colour choices they've got. Miss Fiona loves to add a bit of fun to every session. There was one time when we were twirling around in these vibrant turquoise tutus, absolutely buzzing with a colour that practically shouted ‘look at me!’ Other weeks we’ve had gorgeous pastels, bringing a soft and dreamy look to the room. It’s a delightful break from the black and white world we sometimes get trapped in – those tutus really make you feel like you're dancing under a cloudless blue sky! And you can’t forget the bright reds and yellows which scream drama and power on the stage – I think we were even a bit jealous of the red one – it’s bold and beautiful!

What I really appreciate about this class is the warm and inviting community. The students, a lovely mix of ages and abilities, make you feel like you've been dancing together for years, no matter if you're a seasoned pro or a first-time ballerina. That's the magic of ballet, really. It doesn’t matter your skill level; all that matters is the passion you bring. The tutu isn't about pretension, it’s about letting your passion take over.

There's something incredibly liberating about putting on a tutu and stepping onto the stage. It’s like a superpower – all of a sudden, you're feeling confident and ready to take on the world. And the best part? It’s a feel-good outfit, no matter your body shape. It’s a magical dress that embraces every body and tells the story of every story – every graceful step, every heart-wrenching pirouette, every uplifting jump – the story of a life in motion! So don't be afraid to wear that tutu! Even if you are just stepping into it at your kitchen bench in your own home - get those arms lifted, embrace that beauty, and let that inner ballerina shine.

And who knows, you might just be inspired to pack a tutu in your bag and head down to Colo Vale for your own #tututuesday adventure. Just remember to grab your camera and share your fun! Tag me, lovelies. I can’t wait to see you in all your glory! #tututuesday #balletinaustralia #colovale #ballet
