G'day lovelies! It's your girl, Chloe, back with another #tututuesday post, this time from the sunny shores of Port Denison, Western Australia! I'm here for a quick ballet retreat, you see, because even us ballerinas need a break from the hustle and bustle of the big city. And what better place to recharge than the laid-back paradise of Port Denison?
Now, before I get lost in the breathtaking sunsets and the sound of crashing waves, let's talk tutus! For #tututuesday I've been digging through my wardrobe, and boy, do I have some gems! We're talking classic romantic tutus in soft pinks and ivories, and even a sassy, spangled one for the performance I have tonight! You know I had to pull out my go-to romantic tutu – the one with the layered tulle skirt that looks like a dream and twirls like a symphony. The thing about tutus, isn't it just how magical they make you feel? It's a shame we only get to wear them in the studio, except for occasions like tonight!
So, what are we talking about for a ballet retreat in Port Denison? Well, picture this: Imagine me stretching on the sand at sunrise with the ocean as my soundtrack, or doing my pliés under the shade of a swaying palm tree. Yep, that's what my days have been about! It's such a unique experience compared to the typical ballet studios back home in Perth. Speaking of, did you know ballet is thriving here in Australia? I’ve met some talented local dancers on my trip and I'm so inspired by the dedication and passion that shines through in every performance. It's not just the performances; even the casual studio vibes are different here! The sense of community and joy is undeniable, and it's really something else.
But back to our #tututuesday festivities. Tonight is the big performance at the local arts centre, a lovely heritage-style building, with a view of the sparkling ocean. I'm a little nervous, but I'm really excited to share my passion for dance with this community, which, by the way, is absolutely buzzing about our performance! It's been fun exploring the local shops and discovering some incredible artists - some of their works will even be showcased at the performance. There's such a strong artistic presence here in Port Denison! And of course, no #tututuesday would be complete without a touch of local fashion. I’ve picked up a gorgeous new, vintage-style silk scarf in the prettiest shade of turquoise, and a hand-crafted bag made with ethically-sourced materials. It's going to look stunning with my tutu for tonight's show!
