Tutu Tuesday in Coraki, NSW: A Tutu Tale

G’day lovelies! It’s your favourite ballerina, Chloe here, bringing you the hottest scoop from the world of tutus… right here in Coraki, New South Wales! And guess what? Today is Tutu Tuesday! 💃

Now, before you picture me in a full-on, sparkly, *Swan Lake* tutu in the middle of town (although I wouldn’t mind rocking that look), let’s get real about Tutu Tuesday in Coraki. It’s not exactly a major fashion event like New York Fashion Week, but it’s something we Coraki peeps have been embracing for years now. It’s a bit of fun, a little whimsy, and a chance to remind ourselves that even in this sleepy little town, there’s room for a bit of ballet magic.

So, how do we celebrate Tutu Tuesday? Simple! We wear our tutus!

Whether it’s a classic, frilly, Romantic-style tutu like a *Giselle* costume or a more contemporary, abstract one for a piece like *The Rite of Spring*—or even a casual, stretchy *The Nutcracker* party tutu you throw on for a fun day at the beach — anything goes. We let our creativity flow, and add a splash of colour and femininity to the everyday.

Now, Coraki’s definitely not the heart of Australian ballet. That would probably be Sydney with the Australian Ballet or maybe Melbourne with the Melbourne Ballet, or even Canberra with the Canberra Dance Theatre. But it doesn’t mean we can’t embrace our love for dance. We’re a close-knit community here, and we love to express ourselves in any way we can. It's amazing to see your neighbour’s kids, a local barista, even that lady who works at the butcher shop rockin' a tutu with their everyday outfits. It’s just beautiful!

And you know what? I have to give a shout-out to our local library! They’ve got this fantastic program called “Book and Ballet”. Every Tuesday, they have this storytime where the kids can dress up as their favourite fairytale characters, and the librarians always show off a little ballet move or two! And you better believe the tutu sightings at these sessions are epic! You should see their eyes light up when they get to twirl around like ballerinas. It’s a total mood booster.

Now, if you’re thinking about rocking a tutu on a Tuesday and want to share it with the world, don't forget the hashtag #Tututuesday! And why not add #CorakiNSW and #NSW to the mix to represent our beautiful town and state, because we’re proud of where we’re from!

I might be based in a small town, but don't think for a minute that the tutu scene in Coraki is anything but big! And hey, I’m all for spreading the tutu love wherever I go. So if you happen to see me around Coraki on a Tuesday, you just might catch me strutting my stuff in my favourite tutu. And maybe you’ll be inspired to join me in this little dance party! You know what they say, "life's too short for serious outfits!" 😉
