Tutu Tuesday in Mylor, South Australia - #tututuesday
G’day, fellow tutu enthusiasts! It’s your girl, Ava, back with another #tututuesday post, straight from the sun-drenched streets of Mylor, South Australia. As a ballet dancer (and avid lover of all things twirly!), Tutu Tuesday is my absolute favourite day of the week. It’s a day for celebrating the sheer beauty, elegance, and (let's be honest) the sheer joy of wearing a tutu. 🩰
Today's #tututuesday was extra special because, well, you guys, it was my birthday! To celebrate in true tutu-fashion, I decided to take my #tututuesday on the road and bring it to the beautiful coastal town of Mylor. The beachside location was just what I needed to inspire my inner ballerina.
Now, for those who haven't been initiated into the wonderful world of Tutu Tuesdays, #tututuesday is all about rocking your favourite tutu with pride. No matter the occasion or the outfit, a tutu always adds that extra sprinkle of whimsy and sparkle to any ensemble. And let's face it, what better way to showcase your inner dancer than with a flowing, feathery tutu? 💖
But back to Mylor, the breathtaking views of the clear blue water were the perfect backdrop for my #tututuesday shenanigans. Let me tell you, there’s just something magical about twirling by the ocean, with the salty air blowing through your hair. The feeling is just indescribable! You get the absolute best of both worlds, that feeling of being right at home at the barre, but with the sun on your skin and the sound of the waves crashing in the background. It was tutu bliss!
Speaking of my #tututuesday outfit, I went for a classic romantic tutu, perfect for those sunny beachside vibes. I went for a white tulle tutu that grazed my knees, a soft and ethereal fabric that danced so effortlessly with the sea breeze. It was an absolute dream to twirl in, you guys! I paired my tutu with a simple but chic white blouse that was knotted at the waist. It added just a hint of romanticism without overwhelming the tutu's delicate elegance.
You can’t have a beach #tututuesday without adding some jewellery, right? So, I opted for my favourite gold chain necklace with a small silver shell pendant that added just a little coastal touch. My makeup? Keeping it natural, fresh, and breezy. I wanted to let my tutu do all the talking!
After getting a few shots (because let’s be honest, you can’t have a #tututuesday without capturing a few memories for the gram!), I strolled along the shoreline. This #tututuesday, I even braved a bit of a dip in the ocean! Nothing beats feeling the sand between your toes and the water lapping against your legs while wearing a tutu.
From the smiles on passerby's faces, I think it's safe to say I wasn’t the only one loving the day's fashion choices! You guys, you wouldn't believe how much joy my #tututuesday brought. People would smile at me, wave, even shout “You look beautiful!” – and I have to say, it felt really great to spread a bit of sunshine (and twirl-y good cheer!)
Tutus and sunshine, you guys, they’re just a magical combo! Just like the feeling of dancing ballet in Australia, they are pure joy!
I am so grateful to call myself an Australian ballet dancer. Growing up here has provided so many incredible experiences. There is such an active, dynamic, and vibrant ballet community in Australia, from Melbourne to Sydney, Brisbane to Perth, Adelaide to Hobart. And, don't even get me started on all the wonderful studios and talented teachers that are nurturing and inspiring so many young dancers! The scene is absolutely thriving and the community here is just so special!
