Tutu Tuesday in Lakeshore, Ontario, Canada: #tututuesday

Hey there, dance enthusiasts! It's your girl, Chloe, back with another edition of my fashion blog, this time bringing you all the #tututuesday feels right here in the heart of Lakeshore, Ontario, Canada. I can't even begin to describe how much I adore Tutu Tuesday, but let's be real, the real magic is the love for ballet in Canada. There's something about our unique, charming, and ever-so-slightly-quirky take on fashion that shines when you combine it with a love for dance.

So, picture this: crisp fall air, leaves crunching underfoot, and a whimsical tutu, oh my! I think it's fair to say we have something special brewing here, especially when we’re talking about tutus. And while the term "tutu" often brings to mind the quintessential romantic, fluffy ballerina dream, I'm here to tell you the beauty of a tutu goes way beyond a fluffy fairytale. The variety of tutu styles can cater to your unique sense of dance, with choices like a romantic tutu, a demi-tutu, and the more streamlined and sophisticated, shorter tutu for a dramatic performance, called the "ballet tutu," are just some to start with.

From the whimsical poufs of a classic romantic tutu to the more contemporary streamlined cuts of a ballet tutu, every style tells a story. The "tutu" is no longer confined to the realm of the traditional ballet. These iconic skirts have made their way to street style, with many daring fashionistas adopting the tutus for a stylish look. It's definitely an exciting time to embrace this trend because even though some of these outfits are more for Instagram than stage work, they really showcase the versatility of the garment and what the Tutu Tuesday hashtag is about, letting us be expressive, elegant, and even a little quirky!

Speaking of quirky, let’s get back to Lakeshore and talk about some tutu inspiration here in our corner of Canada. One of my favourite places to find an amazing tutu is this quaint little shop tucked away on a side street – (shop name withheld to avoid endorsement, but it's the one with the big, neon pink tutu sign out front!). They have such an incredible selection. You can find the cutest ballet tutu for a night out dancing and even a full romantic tutu for your performance pieces, so there’s always something for you! It’s basically a tutu wonderland and they have sizes and colours to suit everyone, even if your taste isn’t in pink!

But for me, finding the perfect tutu goes beyond just shopping for the prettiest styles; it’s also about how the garment makes me feel. You know how your favourite shoes give you confidence, or how your favourite hoodie just gives you comfort? Finding a tutu that has those kind of feelings, and even adds an extra touch of grace and flair to it, is what makes the entire experience feel special, which makes #tututuesday the best. What I find beautiful about tutu styles is that it’s always a form of creative expression, a form of dance in and of itself.

From classic to contemporary, tutus can elevate any look and take you back to the core of ballet - a space for expressive freedom and storytelling. The playful charm of Tutu Tuesday encourages this very sense of expression. It gives a space for all those who have a soft spot for the world of dance to be creative, connect and be bold in a garment that celebrates this world and how it flows with everyday life. With that said, I'll leave you with a few thoughts on this Tutu Tuesday in beautiful Lakeshore, Ontario.
