Tutu Tuesday in Mississippi Mills, Ontario: A Celebration of Twirling and Fashion!

Hey there, fellow twirlers and fashionistas! It's your girl, Chloe, bringing you a little bit of #tututuesday magic from Mississippi Mills, Ontario, Canada!

I'm thrilled to share my love of all things tutu with you today. We all know that feeling, right? That little extra bounce in your step when you're wearing a tutu. It’s a wardrobe essential for any serious ballet dancer or just someone who likes to feel like a princess for the day!

Here in Mississippi Mills, our #tututuesday is an annual tradition and a fantastic way to bring the community together for some ballet fun! Imagine the buzz in the air – children, grandparents, families, and even the occasional passerby on their daily walks.

What is #tututuesday? Well, it’s all about dressing up in your favorite tutu – whether it's a romantic tulle classic, a sleek and modern fitted tutu, or maybe even a fun and quirky tutu made with colourful fabric. No matter your style, there's a tutu out there waiting for you, and a #tututuesday waiting to be celebrated.

Why does everyone love #tututuesday? The beauty of it is its simplicity. You just throw on your tutu, slip into your favorite shoes, whether they're your comfy slippers or elegant pointe shoes, and boom! You're ready for the fun! It's an awesome opportunity to bring the ballet magic outside the studio.

This year's #tututuesday in Mississippi Mills was truly exceptional! From our local ballet school showcasing its newest class of adorable tiny dancers, to the "Tutu Contest", with categories like "Most Creative", "Best DIY Tutu" and "Most Sparkly Tutu" it was so much fun to watch!

Now, here’s a little insider tip, because even here in beautiful Ontario, it gets chilly in the Fall: layer your outfit for #tututuesday!

  • I was sporting a gorgeous purple layered tulle tutu. It was a stunning contrast against a sleek black sweater.
  • I also loved seeing a little girl, probably about 5 years old, waving a tutu like a magical princess cape, wearing tights with cute boots and a bright red fleece! It just goes to show, there's no "right" or "wrong" way to express yourself on #tututuesday!
  • Of course, no tutu ensemble is complete without the finishing touches: hair ribbons, maybe a sparkling tiara, some beautiful jewelry, even some fabulous sunglasses!

I want to say, here in Mississippi Mills, #tututuesday truly has something for everyone. It's a reminder to celebrate our unique styles and have a good old-fashioned dance party. The energy is amazing - think about it, everyone is dressed in something that makes them feel a little bit magical!

Oh, and let's talk about ballet in Canada, it’s truly flourishing, whether it's our National Ballet of Canada or all the smaller ballet schools sprinkled across the country, ballet in Canada is on the move and creating its own special space! You can catch some seriously talented dancers all across the country, even in our very own small town here in Mississippi Mills.
