Tutu Tuesday in Mono, Ontario, Canada #tututuesday

Hey dance lovers,

It’s that time again – Tutu Tuesday! Every week, I hit the streets to show off my love of dance, and my passion for fabulous fashion. This week, I decided to bring my tutus to Mono, Ontario, Canada – a cute little town nestled in the heart of Ontario's rolling hills.

My tutu this week is a real stunner. It's a classic romantic tutu, but with a modern twist. It's a two-tiered tutu, the bottom tier made of shimmering white tulle and the top tier in a vibrant magenta, the perfect touch of color against the white. The bodice is deconstructed - lots of movement and pleats that show off the silhouette without being fussy. The bodice features little straps that cinch tight and are super adjustable. My whole outfit is very wearable. The skirt is full, but not at all bulky, perfect for moving about in this lovely village.

Mono is super cute – I felt like I stepped right into a postcard, so I knew I had to stop and snap some pics, in the adorable downtown core. I stopped to check out the independent shops, which all had beautiful storefront designs. The local café – The Grind – had amazing coffee, a great view of the street. They made me feel welcome with my ballet style! Everyone was really friendly. Everyone was thrilled with the Tutu Tuesday – even the dogs! So many smiles. And lots of smiles, but also so many cool poses.

The thing about the #tututuesday movement is it’s a whole feeling and look that's as much about personal expression as it is fashion. That feeling of whimsy, fun and personal power shines right through. I took this chance to break my personal Tutu Tuesday styling rules, by layering my tulle skirt over some sheer floral stockings – and adding in little black ribbon tie ballet shoes with satin bows that matched my tutu and my flower headband.

Mono’s so laid-back – the perfect place to show off a little bit of twirl, so I even pulled a few moves – no shame, because all those little village kids were getting into it too!

It wasn’t just about my amazing outfit, though. It was about the people of Mono. They were absolutely fantastic! They really welcomed the dance spirit of #tututuesday into the mix. So many smiles. Some of those local kiddos even pulled out a couple of their own moves – very, very cool. We got some incredible pictures together. The power of #tututuesday!
