Tutu Tuesday in Portugal Cove-St. Philip's, Newfoundland and Labrador Hey fellow dance lovers and fashionistas! It's your girl, Chloe, bringing you another fabulously tutued-up edition of #tututuesday! This week, I'm taking you all on a whirlwind tour of tutu fashion, right here in the beautiful seaside town of Portugal Cove-St. Philip's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Buckle up, because this Tuesday's tutu trip is all about exploring the artistic spirit of this vibrant Canadian community! First off, let's talk tutu trends! While classic tutus like the romantic, multi-layered Romantic tutu, or the sleek, streamlined Modern tutu have their place, there’s been a massive resurgence of the fun and flirty tutu style in recent years. Think bold colours, fun prints, and playful silhouettes. Here in Portugal Cove-St. Philip's, it feels like everyone's rocking the tutu look. We spotted a gorgeous young ballerina in a stunning, powder blue, multi-layered tulle tutu while we were enjoying the spectacular scenery at the historic Signal Hill. She looked like she had stepped right out of a fairytale. On our wanderings through the quaint streets of Portugal Cove-St. Philip's, we saw several locals putting their own spin on tutu fashion. Think everyday styles elevated with the fun of a tutu skirt. We loved the woman rocking a tutu as a whimsical statement piece with a classic leather jacket and jeans, and another person who had effortlessly layered a flowing white tutu over a denim dress. For the real dance lovers, this town’s got something extra special in store. I visited the newly opened "Atlantic Dance Centre", and let me tell you, they know how to get their groove on. The vibe was electric! As I stepped into their studio, I felt transported to the heart of Canada’s booming ballet scene, and it just shows that, no matter where you are, you can be surrounded by the joy of dance. The classes were a blast. We got to witness firsthand how versatile tutus are. We saw some incredibly talented students, using both the traditional Romantic tutus with their full layers, and also experimenting with the innovative designs and fabrics seen in the Modern tutu style. I even snagged some fabulous tutu style inspo for my own future projects. After our ballet escapade, we couldn’t resist checking out some of the local shops and boutiques in town. These talented shopkeepers are crafting stunning pieces that capture the essence of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s unique character. Whether you're searching for the perfect tutu for a special occasion, a new way to embrace the iconic tutu style, or just a peek into the vibrant world of ballet in Canada, Portugal Cove-St. Philip's is the perfect place to go. This place really embodies the true spirit of #tututuesday - embracing creativity, pushing boundaries and having a whole lotta fun with fashion! Remember, if you are ever feeling a bit uncertain, remember this is all about experimentation. And it’s definitely about showing the world that Canadian women are stylish and fearless! So grab a friend, lace up your dancing shoes and embrace your inner ballerina! And don’t forget to rock those twirling-ready tutus wherever you are, whether it's in Portugal Cove-St. Philip's, Newfoundland and Labrador or somewhere else in the world.
