Tutu Tuesday in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada: A Ballet Lover’s Guide to Tutu Tuesday

Hey fellow ballet fanatics and fashionistas! It’s your girl, Nadia, here, coming to you live from the heart of Alberta. Today’s topic: Tutu Tuesday, because even if you’re not a ballerina, rocking a tulle skirt is practically a Canadian pastime, am I right? 😜

As a ballet dancer, my wardrobe is practically overflowing with tutus. Seriously, they take up like half my closet. From the classic, traditional, single-layered tutus to the billowing multi-layered ones that make me feel like I'm in a dream – it’s all about embracing the magic of ballet through fashion, whether I’m on stage or rocking out in everyday life.

Here in Rocky Mountain House, the vibe is totally chill and the people are as warm as the Rocky Mountain sunshine. So, naturally, when I found out that this small town had their own take on Tutu Tuesday, my inner ballerina practically pirouetted with excitement.

Let’s talk styles because #tututuesday is not just about wearing a tutu – it's about finding your own unique way to express your inner ballerina, whether that means a playful mini-tutu for brunch, a romantic tulle skirt for a date night, or even rocking a layered tulle gown for a special occasion.

For example, last week’s #tututuesday brought out the whole range:

  • There was Melissa, who wore a soft pastel pink tutu paired with a cute vintage sweater and Doc Martens boots – an amazing combo of playful and edgy!
  • My friend Sarah, the fashionista, took a classic tutu and layered it with a chic denim jacket, adding some fierce black ankle boots and a top knot for a totally edgy and on-trend look.
  • Even my grandma joined in! She went with a beautiful lilac maxi tutu, making me so proud – seriously, a whole new level of fashion inspiration.

Honestly, I love that #tututuesday allows us to find ways to be bold, playful, and unique with our own styles, which is especially amazing since ballet in Canada is definitely making a big comeback, especially with our very own, *insert ballet school name or organization*, inspiring a whole new generation of ballerinas.

I feel so proud to be part of this creative, inspiring, and inclusive community here in Rocky Mountain House. Who knows, maybe next year, we’ll have our own #tututuesday competition – I already have my outfit planned!

I would love to see your own take on #tututuesday. Share your looks and tag me! Until next time, stay fashionable and keep on twirling!
