Tutu Tuesday in Kindersley, Saskatchewan: A Whirlwind of Tulle and Tradition #tututuesday

Hey, dance lovers! Your girl, Chloe here, back with another installment of my fashion blog, straight from the heart of Saskatchewan, Canada. Today, I'm stepping out of my usual pointe shoes and into something a little…more fabulous: tutus! As you all know, it's Tutu Tuesday, and this week, I'm bringing you the enchantment of tutus in a town known for its wide-open spaces and genuine spirit: Kindersley.

So, where do tutus fit into a small town in Saskatchewan? You might be surprised! For one thing, dance is a thriving part of life here. We’ve got studios buzzing with classes, and we have amazing ballet, contemporary, and jazz performers all over. I’ve got to say, the talent in Saskatchewan rivals any big city – the passion is evident! And let's face it, there's just something magical about the twirl of a tulle skirt – it's pure artistry!

Now, let's get down to business: what's hot in tutus right now? My favourites are always the classic romantic tutu. This type is all about that graceful, airy flow – think big layers of tulle, soft pastels, and those gorgeous, romantic ballet silhouettes. These are truly elegant and have a touch of classic ballerina about them.

If you're looking for a tutu that will turn heads, a contemporary tutu is the way to go. They tend to have fewer layers and come in bold colours and patterns. They’re all about breaking the mold and expressing creativity through dance.

No matter which style you're after, a tutu can really help elevate your dance practice or just brighten up your day.

Here are some things I learned about tutu trends from the local Kindersley dance community:

  • Customization: Saskatchewan is all about custom design. There’s an upcycled look and some interesting eco-friendly pieces made with sustainable materials that’s taking the local dance scene by storm.
  • Vintage Vibes: Don’t be surprised to see tutus with that 1950s flair: think vintage embellishments, bold colours, and lots of sparkle.
  • Fun Factor: From brightly-colored tutus to ones adorned with cute animal appliqués, there’s an increasing focus on making tutus as much about expression as they are about dance.

Speaking of dance, I've got to give a shoutout to the dance studios in Kindersley – you're killing it with the Tutu Tuesday spirit! I've been working with these studios to offer a bit of ballet training for young and upcoming dancers in town. And you can tell they're dedicated to giving the younger generations of Saskatchewan the chance to explore the art of ballet.

While I’m here in Kindersley, I’ll definitely be hitting up some local studios and sharing some Tutu Tuesday fashion tips and styling advice. Stay tuned to my blog for those insights.

Now, I'm going to spin off into my tutu – I've got a dance lesson to catch. Until next time, don't forget to embrace the enchantment of a good twirl!

Stay fab, Saskatchewan! Love, Chloe xoxo.
