Tutu Tuesday in Blind River, Ontario: A Whirlwind of Tulle and Tradition

Hey dance lovers! It’s your girl, Chloé here, back with another fashion-forward exploration of all things tutu-licious. Today’s stop? The charming town of Blind River, Ontario, a place that might surprise you with its hidden gems – especially when it comes to tutus! 🩰

Now, let’s be real, a tutu can feel like an out-of-place accessory outside the ballet studio. But as a lifelong dancer, I know there's a time and place for every style – even a whimsical romantic tutu like a classic, dreamy romantic style on a Wednesday morning! This is what I love about tutu styling: there's no such thing as a "wrong" look when you're putting your personal flair into it. That’s why #TutuTuesday has become a passion project – embracing the art of the tutu and letting it take flight in unexpected settings.

For my #TutuTuesday in Blind River, I opted for a fun, playful Tutu which was all about vibrant colours and lots of tulle. We're talking layers of lavender, pink, and turquoise tulle for a dreamy effect, paired with a crop top that was almost as glitzy as the sparkly lake! I embraced the small-town charm by finding a location that would contrast the tulle. A classic wooden boardwalk, overlooking the serene Blind River, provided a perfect setting. The contrast between the playful colours of the tutu and the serene background made for a striking combination.

Here's a little behind-the-scenes peek into how I chose my outfit:

  • Embrace the Environment – Since we were by the water, the lightness of the tulle tutu fit in perfectly. It's a reminder that even when you're choosing bold choices, you need to find an environment that plays well with your vision.
  • Find Your Own Spin - A tutu can be a statement. You can rock a more structured classic style with layers of tulle and a timeless silhouette, or you can find inspiration from the street, sporty silhouettes that bring the ballet into contemporary styles.
  • Layer It Up – I chose to layer a simple, crop top over my tutu for a look that's both flattering and fun. The added layers are a great way to add your own personal twist. You can experiment with colour palettes or play with contrasting textures.
  • A Little Sparkle Goes a Long Way – Let’s be honest – sometimes, the perfect look is complete with a little bling. If the lake doesn't provide enough sparkle on its own, your look can definitely create some!

Blind River proved to be the perfect backdrop to #Tututuesday. A true hidden gem in Canada's Ontario region. I recommend it to everyone!

Stay tuned, dance lovers! More tutu adventures coming your way!
