Tutu Tuesday in Sainte-Beatrix, Quebec: A Celebration of Twirls and Tradition It's Tuesday, which means it's time for the weekly tradition that gets my heart (and my feet) pumping: **Tutu Tuesday!** For those of you new to the fabulous world of #tututuesday, this weekly affair is a celebration of all things tutu. From the fluffy romanticism of the classical tutu to the sleek contemporary styles that make my legs sing, tutus are a ballet dancer's best friend (and wardrobe staple, let's be real!). And what better place to embrace Tutu Tuesday than in the beautiful town of Sainte-Beatrix, Quebec? Known for its stunning scenery and welcoming community, Sainte-Beatrix has become a hub for Canadian ballet, fostering a love of dance that ripples through its streets and resonates within every pirouette. A Spotlight on Sainte-Beatrix Ballet It’s inspiring to witness the talent blossoming in Sainte-Beatrix! For years, this small town has hosted incredible dance studios and nurtured passionate young dancers, like myself! (Cue the proud moment - *wink*). Sainte-Beatrix’s dance scene has blossomed and it’s amazing to witness these young ballerinas and dancers make a splash in Canada’s national and international ballet competitions. I remember myself in their shoes - the thrill of a perfectly executed arabesque or a leap that felt like defying gravity. Those were some of the most incredible moments of my early career in ballet, and seeing young dancers here in Sainte-Beatrix pursuing their dreams reminds me why I continue to celebrate this art form. **Tutu Talk: The Dance of Fashion** We can't forget the reason for this Tutu Tuesday fiesta – the tutu itself! Whether it’s the classic "bell shape" or the innovative "pencil-style" that stretches and flows, tutus have this unique magic. Each tutu tells a story, whispering secrets of the ballet they adorn and the character they represent. From the frothy grace of the romantic tutus to the daring lines of contemporary styles, every single design takes me on a whimsical adventure in a whirlwind of satin and tulle! And let’s face it, tutus can rock almost any style, which is why I always say "every day is a Tutu Day!". (Ok, that one's new. I like it, feel free to use it.) * A romantic ballerina pink with fluffy layers, paired with my favorite vintage coat? **Yes!** * A sassy black contemporary tutu, belted and layered over denim shorts and boots? **Double yes!** For this Tutu Tuesday, I’m wearing the most iconic of all tutus: a classic *Romantic*, which features an impressive, multi-layered skirt that just explodes with charm. The shape reminds me of my very first ballet shoes - a touch of nostalgia always brings a sparkle to my eyes! (Cue a slow dance to Swan Lake music) The Future of Tutu Tuesday in Sainte-Beatrix Whether I’m practicing, choreographing, or just feeling the love for dance, my trusty tutus are always close at hand, but I’ve gotta be honest - there’s no better way to embrace Tutu Tuesday than to be in the heart of Sainte-Beatrix.
