Tutu Tuesday in Saint-Antoine, New Brunswick: A Fashionable Fiesta
Hello fellow fashionistas! It's your girl, Chloe, back with another Tutu Tuesday post! This week, I'm bringing the tutus to the east coast, specifically to the charming town of Saint-Antoine, New Brunswick.
This beautiful province is home to so many talented dancers, and I was lucky enough to spend a day exploring its hidden gems, including the adorable boutiques in downtown Saint-Antoine. Let's get this #tututuesday party started!
A Tutus for Every Style
First things first, let's talk tutus! When you think of ballet, you probably picture a traditional, romantic tutu, but the world of tutus is much more diverse than that! In Saint-Antoine, I found everything from classic romantic tutus with layers of soft tulle to contemporary styles with asymmetrical lines and bold colours. I'm a sucker for a good romantic tutu – those billowing layers of tulle are just so ethereal and elegant! But if you want to make a statement with your dance look, the contemporary styles are perfect!
Here are some of the must-have tutu styles that caught my eye during my Saint-Antoine adventures:
* **Romantic tutu:** The epitome of grace and femininity, this timeless classic is characterized by layers upon layers of soft tulle, creating a breathtaking, flowing silhouette. * **Contemporary tutu:** Breaking the mold with bold cuts, unconventional fabrics, and unique colour palettes, contemporary tutus bring a modern edge to the classic dancewear staple. * **The classic pointe shoe tutu:** These graceful and elegant tutus are usually designed with several layers of tulle. Their airy design makes them look particularly romantic. * **The 'fluffy' tutu:** A less 'layered' tutu made up of two main layers that have different patterns or styles, it's an essential for dance students who want a little 'more' but need to stay practical for rehearsals. * **The leotard and skirt combo:** A playful and practical look, this combination lets you channel your inner dancer while staying comfortable during those long dance sessions.
Shop 'Til You Drop
After my tutu shopping spree, I headed over to Saint-Antoine's bustling downtown to fuel up for the afternoon. Oh, my goodness, the food in New Brunswick is phenomenal! The cafes and restaurants are absolutely amazing and super friendly. After a satisfying meal and some delicious coffee, it was time to discover some hidden gems in Saint-Antoine!
One of my favourite shops was "La Boutique Danse." This adorable store is filled with the most incredible dancewear – think beautiful leotards, chic tights, and stunning accessories! I couldn't resist grabbing a new leotard and a pair of sparkling dance shoes for myself. The shop assistant was such a delight – a true expert on dancewear with a warm smile and endless patience.
But my favourite part of Saint-Antoine was definitely the amazing atmosphere. The locals were so welcoming, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of community everywhere I went. The whole town seems to embrace art, dance, and music, which makes it the perfect place for any dance enthusiast like me!
#tututuesday with a Canadian Twist
While ballet is undoubtedly global, Canadian dance holds a special place in my heart. We have a vibrant and dynamic dance community, brimming with unique talent and a unique energy. I can't help but feel a strong sense of pride when I see young Canadian dancers expressing themselves on stage. It’s amazing to think about the ballet history we have in Canada and that it continues to flourish!
It’s a testament to the passion for the art that keeps Canadian dancers motivated!
I truly hope you enjoyed my little peek into the world of #tututuesday in Saint-Antoine! The east coast truly knows how to celebrate dance, and I am already looking forward to my next trip!

Until next time, remember to embrace your inner dancer, keep dancing, keep shining!
