Tutu Tuesday in Stephenville Crossing, Newfoundland and Labrador: A Celebration of Dance and Fashion! #tututuesday
Hey everyone,
It’s your girl, Chloe, back at it again with another installment of “Chloe's Corner!”
As a professional dancer, I know a thing or two about tutus. Let me tell you, they're more than just a frilly outfit for dancing - they’re a work of art!

So today, let's dive into a new adventure - a “Tutu Tuesday” right here in Stephenville Crossing, Newfoundland and Labrador! This small town holds a big heart for ballet. We may not have the biggest theatre or ballet school, but trust me - we’ve got some of the most talented dancers you’ve ever seen.

As the weather has gotten a little crispier here in Newfoundland and Labrador (you know, that moment when the air has that bite), it's time for some fashion fun! You might think of ballet as an activity you only do inside. But in Newfoundland and Labrador, our passion for ballet extends outdoors, even during our beautiful, crisp seasons! I have to admit, it does get chilly out there!

I think I need to address the elephant in the room, so here we go, "why did I choose tutu? You'll have to go to another website for this because I need to write about tutu. What is a tutu?"
Well, tutus are my fave part of ballet and honestly? I love that each type of tutu has its own uniqueness. Like, let’s break it down.
• **The Romantic tutu** - We've all seen the wispy, floaty, airy designs made of several layers. These are usually super light and delicate. Think like an image of the iconic ballerina. • **The classical tutu** is the tutu most of you think of - you know, the tutu with all the layers, all the “frills”, if you will - perfect for jumps, and spins. This tutu is a classic, always perfect, never fails. • **The Contemporary tutu**? Oh, man - if there’s one type of tutu you have to check out, this one is it! It has less layers than a classical tutu, and usually gives more of a dancer’s body more room to move - which is perfect if you're interested in that kind of dance style. • **The Tutu in film.** Of course, let’s be honest, ballet gets a lot of love in films - especially with "The Nutcracker." But even outside the dance world, you'll see a tutu now and then - even "Bridgerton"! The power of tutus - you know they're just a must-have!

This year's "Tutu Tuesday” theme was “Dress Up,” so we wanted to go bold and big - this town always embraces fashion.
Some of my fave “Tutu Tuesday” highlights were : * Our resident fashionista, Mary, wearing a sparkly lavender classical tutu - with a long red velvet coat - let's just say she pulled it off!
* Local photographer, John, even sported a pastel blue tutu that matched the sky - a real-life fashion shoot with an inspiring sky backdrop!
* A young dance student named Sophia made a homemade Romantic tutu. You could see that it was straight outta' her imagination - but with real talent!

Let me tell you, the creativity in our little corner of the world never fails to amaze me! I know we all get so caught up in daily life - we can get busy - but I believe "Tutu Tuesday" reminds everyone how important it is to enjoy a good laugh, be creative and, in this case, we celebrate fashion in our very own way.
