Tutu Tuesday in Southesk, New Brunswick: A Whirlwind of Tulle and #tututuesday

Hey everyone! It's your favourite Canadian ballet dancer and blogger, back with another installment of Tutu Tuesday. This week, I'm bringing you a little piece of ballet magic straight from Southesk, New Brunswick! I’m pretty sure this tiny town is the perfect place for some #tututuesday fun.

Now, if you know me, you know I'm obsessed with all things tutu. They're the quintessential symbol of ballet, and there’s a whole universe of style within them – from classic romantic to modern, edgy, and even a touch of the avant-garde. This week, I'm especially smitten with the airy grace of a romantic tutu – think delicate layers of tulle, floating through the air as if spun by a magical pixie. It's just dreamy.

I took my tutu to Southesk's adorable little town square, where the scent of freshly baked goods filled the air and the friendly locals welcomed me with smiles. This small town is so charming - like stepping back in time! There's a certain calmness in this town that helps you slow down and really appreciate the details.

We started at the community center. I think I literally heard a collective gasp when I showed up in my tutu. This place is brimming with history and that's evident in its gorgeous architecture and that unmistakable classic, warm community vibe. What better backdrop than this elegant building? I could totally picture the townspeople taking their grand ball dresses out on the stage! A perfect mix of classical beauty and a tiny-town, folksy atmosphere - the perfect recipe for some fun Tutu Tuesday moments!

The park across from the center had an awesome old playground. Honestly, I was tempted to just take a run on those swings, the park made me feel like I was eight years old again! It made for an excellent playful setting for my Tutu Tuesday photo shoot. Plus, let's be real, you just can't beat a photo of a tutu and a classic swingscape.

Next, we headed towards the local ice cream shop. It was called, 'The Sugar Shack' and their slogan was 'Cones, smiles, and sweet memories', seriously, how charming?! I think it's important to bring in the joy and nostalgia of the small towns whenever you're taking pictures for Tutu Tuesday. And, let’s be real, tutus and ice cream? The epitome of pure happiness!

It goes without saying, a trip to Southesk would never be complete without checking out the iconic local coffee shop. 'The Cozy Cup'. As if the name itself didn't give it away, the quaintest coffee shop EVER! I imagined that the shop would smell amazing but the smell was something else, seriously it was like a mix of fresh brewed coffee and cinnamon, it literally had my taste buds going bonkers! And they were absolutely rocking those floral tablecloths - they matched my tulle tutu! (What are the odds?) That little spot became the backdrop for some really amazing Tutu Tuesday shots.

If there's one thing I learned on this Tutu Tuesday in Southesk, it's that tutu-ing your way across Canada can spark so much joy - a true reminder to celebrate life and have some fun!
