Tutu Tuesday in Notre-Dame-du-Nord, Quebec: A Ballet Blogger’s Adventures

Bonjour from the picturesque town of Notre-Dame-du-Nord, Quebec! Today is Tuesday, which means one thing: #tututuesday! As a Canadian ballet dancer and aspiring fashion blogger, my life revolves around tutus – and, let's face it, the perfect Instagram picture opportunity. I mean, what could be more iconic than a tutu twirling amidst the breathtaking beauty of Quebec's countryside?

I’m always on the lookout for the perfect tutu to rock for #tututuesday. The perfect tutu for me is something that combines classic ballet elegance with modern-day style. You see, ballet isn't just about precision and grace. It's also about artistry and expressing oneself. And my tutu is my canvas!

For today's #tututuesday, I opted for a dreamy tulle tutu in a soft, powder blue. It's the perfect hue for spring, and it captures the ethereal feel of Notre-Dame-du-Nord. Plus, the multiple layers of tulle create such a dreamy, floaty silhouette. The look is a nod to the romanticism of classic ballet, while still feeling fresh and contemporary.

For #tututuesday, I chose to wear this tutu amidst the majestic Notre-Dame-du-Nord church. I know it might seem unconventional, but there's a certain juxtaposition between the religious grandeur of the church and the airy elegance of the tutu that I found irresistible. It created an unexpected harmony, playing with the contrasting vibes and giving my outfit a fresh twist.

The tutu really felt like a beacon of hope in this majestic church, like a gentle reminder of the power of artistry and beauty. And it made me think of the inspiring story of how ballet, and dance, in general, are growing stronger than ever in Canada. The Canadian ballet scene is exploding, filled with talented dancers pushing boundaries and expressing themselves in exciting new ways.

Today, I also wanted to spotlight a tutu from the famous Canadian dance wear company, Dancewear House. They're known for their exceptional quality and innovative designs. So, for today's #tututuesday look, I was thrilled to pair my chosen tutu with Dancewear House’s exquisite line of pointe shoes. It just made everything feel complete!

When I stepped onto the church grounds, the sunlight danced through the layers of tulle, creating a kaleidoscope of shimmering hues. This added a touch of magic to my #tututuesday, reminding me that sometimes, the best fashion statements are about the unexpected. This moment felt truly special.

Here's why I think my #tututuesday was so fab, from a Canadian blogger’s point of view:

  • Bold Choice: Mixing the grandeur of a church with a tutu is definitely stepping outside the box! I love playing with juxtaposition in my #tututuesday posts.
  • Canadian Pride: The Dancewear House shoes? Pure Canadian craftsmanship at its finest! I am all about supporting local talent in the dance scene and beyond.
  • Beauty & Inspiration: Combining ballet and a breathtaking setting like this church reminded me why dance continues to be a source of joy and wonder for me and millions of others in Canada.

Here are my favorite tutu styles that I’m loving for #tututuesday:

  • Romantic & Dreamy: A multi-layered tulle tutu with a soft, romantic shade – perfect for photos amidst picturesque settings like Notre-Dame-du-Nord’s stunning landscape!
  • Modern & Edgy: I’m obsessed with sleek, minimalist tutus in bold colours like red or black, paired with a cool leather jacket. This edgy look gives a bold take on the classic ballet form!
  • Playful & Whimsical: A fun, brightly colored tutu that is totally eye-catching. Think bold hues and a playful, oversized bow!
