Tutu Tuesday in Valemount, British Columbia #tututuesday Hey, ballet babes and fashionistas! It's your girl, Claire, back with another Tutu Tuesday, and this time we're taking a trip to the majestic mountains of British Columbia, to Valemount, a little gem tucked away in the heart of Canada. This week, we're exploring the beauty of ballet beyond the stage, embracing the dance in our everyday lives. Because let's face it, every day can be a stage when you’ve got the right outfit! And there's no better outfit to inspire grace and movement than a tutu.
Why Valemount? Well, firstly, it’s the ultimate mountain getaway. Second, I have the most beautiful memory of my time dancing in Canada. I remember as a young dancer, training at the National Ballet School of Canada in Toronto, when I participated in the "Ballet in the Community" program. This program brought the magic of dance to remote towns, connecting ballet with Canadians from coast to coast, sharing the joy and passion of dance with diverse audiences. It was on a snowy Canadian winter day, while on a ballet outreach program in Valemount, British Columbia, that my love of the Canadian landscape began! And as much as Valemount brings me back to my passion, Valemount embodies the very spirit of this Tutu Tuesday challenge: stepping outside of your comfort zone. This town has an incredible, authentic Canadian charm, and just being in this nature-centric, outdoor-loving location puts me in a whimsical and joyful mood that definitely inspired my Tutu Tuesday outfit.
The Tutu Look Today, we’re bringing out the ballerina in all of us, so get ready to unleash your inner prima ballerina with this stunning ensemble, infused with Valemount’s majestic landscape: * **Tutu:** My choice was a romantic tulle tutu, layered with the softness of chiffon. I picked a classic colour, the ethereal lilac, reminiscent of the mountain haze and lavender wildflowers in Valemount's meadows. It had the perfect touch of whimsy with just a hint of romanticism that makes it ideal for my walk through the mountains. * **Top:** A flowy, pale yellow top, perfect for layering, with a breezy look that complemented the tulle. I opted for something slightly sheer and ethereal to accentuate the light, airy feel of the tulle, creating a subtle and ethereal effect. * **Boots:** You can't beat some good old-fashioned leather boots. These babies have been well worn and definitely show off some Canadian spirit. I'm all about comfort, but I also love the way they make my legs look longer – essential for those perfect Instagram shots! The boot's lace up details provided an earthy vibe that perfectly blended with the nature surrounding me. * **Hair:** A delicate crown braid, cascading with my flowing locks, just as graceful as the wind through the tall pines in the surrounding forest.
Tutu Tuesday Adventures We spent our morning wandering through Valemount's picturesque landscapes. The town's breathtaking beauty, infused with vibrant wildlife and nature’s incredible artistry, was simply mesmerizing. It’s not hard to see how this town inspires and excites. It is indeed an incredible Canadian getaway! The mountain air is crisp, fresh and invigorating, making my ballet moves light and fluid. Whether I'm prancing on the forest trails or dipping into the crystal-clear waters of Valemount's numerous lakes, I’m living every ballerinas' dream in the Great White North!
