Tutu Tuesday in Newmarket, Ontario: #tututuesday

Hey everyone! It’s your girl, Sarah, back with another post! I know it’s a bit chilly out there, but that doesn’t mean we have to ditch our tutus. Let’s get those pirouettes going and show everyone that ballerinas don’t just belong in the studio – we rock tutus everywhere!

You know how much I love Tutu Tuesday! It's the best excuse to pull out my most fabulous tutus, from classic to contemporary, and flaunt them on the streets of Newmarket, Ontario. If you've never heard of #tututuesday, then you’ve been missing out on one of the most fun fashion trends out there! But it’s not all about showing off those frilly tutus – it’s also about expressing ourselves, feeling confident and a little bit whimsical, while rocking Canadian pride.

So what kind of tutus are hot in Canada these days? The options are endless. Think:

* Classics: Those classic tutus, like the romantic tutu – a super short, frilly tutu that hits you at the waist or above - they are just divine! The iconic white and the vibrant pinks are classics for a reason! There’s also the famous bell tutu (I wear the white and the black one!). A bell tutu has layers and layers of fabric forming the shape of a bell, typically a softer look but definitely gives the dramatic dancer vibe. Then you have the famous, full circle tutu (think Sleeping Beauty)! We are definitely rocking them all! * Contemporary Styles: It’s not all about classic romantic tutus! Some modern, contemporary tutus are really doing it for me lately! They are the epitome of both beauty and comfort! It’s so much fun pairing them with my favourite leggings, stylish sweaters, and even hoodies, depending on the occasion. And then there's the magical "soft tutu" (often a darker color), which is what I like to call the non-classic, flowing tutus. You’ll see me wearing those often in black!

But the beauty of Tutu Tuesday isn’t just about the tutu itself. It’s about celebrating the vibrant and multifaceted ballet community in Canada. And oh, let me tell you! From Toronto to Vancouver, Canada’s dance scene is flourishing, with dancers of all backgrounds and styles putting their heart and soul into every step. This spirit is what Tutu Tuesday is all about.

So join me, Newmarket! And wherever you may be, spread the Tutu Tuesday joy, grab your tutu (no matter what your style), and let’s show the world that we can be fabulous while staying true to our passions.

Stay tuned for my next blog post where we’ll discuss my recent Ballet performance here in Newmarket at The Newmarket Dance Studio. It’s such a beautiful place to practice and be part of a thriving community of fellow dancers.
