Tutu Tuesday in Quispamsis, New Brunswick: A Celebration of Dance and Fashion
Hey everyone! It’s your girl, Clara, back with another installment of my blog! As you all know, I'm a huge fan of tutus. They're just so darn glamorous, elegant, and empowering! That's why every Tuesday, I make sure to rock a tutu, and inspire everyone else to do the same with my beloved #tututuesday! This week, I thought it would be extra special to head to Quispamsis, New Brunswick, a place known for its picturesque charm and a love for the arts.
The plan was to not only celebrate tutu day but also explore this lovely city and maybe even inspire some locals to join the tutu party! I decided to keep my tutu choice classic yet modern, with a delicate and flowy, knee-length style, in a soft blush pink. It featured layers of tulle and was topped off with a beautiful, hand-beaded bodice. You know, the kind that feels like a dream! A little touch of gold sequins and a beautiful velvet ribbon at the waist completed this ensemble. It was both dramatic and understated, the kind of outfit that gets noticed but is comfortable enough to spend an entire day exploring a new city!
As I stepped out of my car, ready to tackle Quispamsis, the vibe was so welcoming! This place really embodies that quintessential Canadian warmth, I felt immediately comfortable. I strolled through the streets, admire the local shops and restaurants, enjoying the charming streets lined with Victorian-era buildings. Every corner seemed to be brimming with local history! It made me feel like I was stepping back in time.
It's the kind of place where everyone knows your name. Just like any good story, mine in Quispamsis started in a small, family-owned cafe! I knew this is where I had to find some tutu-loving fans! Over a perfectly brewed cup of Canadian coffee, I told everyone about #tututuesday, the joy it brings and how it unites people. They were absolutely enthralled! One of the patrons, an adorable grandma, who’d been a ballet dancer in her younger days, pulled out a faded picture of herself wearing a gorgeous, fluffy, romantic-style, full-length tutu! And so, I was greeted with open arms, even with my fancy tutu!
Quispamsis: A Hidden Ballet Gem
The fun didn’t end there! As my coffee began to cool, I found out about a wonderful dance school, which was about to host an open house, just a few blocks away. I knew, instantly, that I needed to stop by. And guess what? They were having a special dance showcase showcasing the very essence of ballet! It was a truly magical event, full of breathtaking choreography and performances, demonstrating a passion for ballet in Quispamsis that really moved me! This place had this magical air of creativity!
Sharing the Tutu Love
The students in that ballet school in Quispamsis are incredible! They reminded me of the beginning of my ballet journey! The dancers ranged from wee tots with sparkly, adorable, mini tutus with soft pastel hues to the advanced students rocking graceful and elegant, tutus with romantic lines. They even had some classic professional-style tutus – the kind used in the traditional ballet! I got to share my #tututuesday spirit with these dancers. Seeing the excitement on their faces when I shared the concept of spreading #tututuesday love is why I do this. Even if one of these little tutu-rockers inspires a new dancer with their love of dance. I will have succeeded in bringing the #tututuesday joy to another generation.
Why Tutu Tuesday Rocks!
For me, Tutu Tuesday is more than just a fashion statement, though it certainly is a statement in the most beautiful and impactful way. It's about embracing your inner confidence. You don’t have to wear a traditional tutu; a twirly dress, a fun, flowy skirt, anything that makes you feel special, unique and bold!
In a world where sometimes we’re too quick to be serious, Tutu Tuesday reminds us to be playful, lighthearted, and have a little bit of fun. Just like those talented little dancers at the ballet school, embrace the wonder, the excitement, and just be yourself.
I truly believe in the transformative power of ballet. And with Tutu Tuesday, we can add another dimension! Whether it's graceful leaps, elegant poses, or simple spins – these actions are the embodiment of elegance and power, something every girl needs a taste of!
