Tutu Tuesday in Slough: A Whirlwind of Pointe Shoes and Frills Well, darlings, it's that time of the week again – Tutu Tuesday! And today, I'm bringing the sparkle right here to Slough. Yes, you heard me right. Forget the stereotype of Slough being all grey and industrial. Today, we're going to turn the town on its head and inject it with some serious sartorial magic. Now, before we delve into the fabulous frocks, let's talk about my outfit, because what's a tutu post without a show-stopping ensemble? My trusty old black tutu, which I've been calling "Midnight Rhapsody" (yes, I know, very dramatic, but I like to personalize my costumes), is a true classic with layers upon layers of tulle, and the softest tulle you've ever felt. Today I've paired it with a black velvet leotard and my go-to black patent leather pointe shoes. You can't go wrong with a touch of sleek black. But back to the town. So why choose Slough, you ask? Because sometimes, the most unexpected places have hidden gems. Now, Slough isn't known as a fashion hotspot (let's be honest, the image conjured up by "The Office" still haunts our dreams), but there's something really special about embracing a challenge. I, for one, love bringing the dance floor, the art, the fashion to unusual venues. So, Tutu Tuesday in Slough, you ask? Bring it on. Our first stop, naturally, is the Royal Windsor Racecourse. There's nothing quite like the joy of horse racing combined with tutus. We're taking it old-school glamour with this one. Picture pale pink tulle, voluminous and floaty, a la the classic Giselle costumes. We'll be floating along the finish line, channeling elegance and grace. A touch of glittery champagne tulle might also make an appearance...because why not! And then, darlings, the most fun part...Slough Market. I've been wanting to do this for ages! There's just something delightful about juxtaposing the traditional market stalls and vibrant street food with tutu couture. Imagine a white tutu, almost cloud-like, flitting between stalls packed with fresh produce. It's the perfect statement: 'fashion knows no boundaries' ! The only caveat: I'll have to wear my dance shoes, the last thing I want to do is accidentally stand on someone's cabbages, and those delicious hot rotis from India's Delight are best eaten with the freshest possible tulle! For the evening, we're switching gears and hitting up The Curve, Slough's biggest shopping center. We'll be channeling a 'modern ballerina' vibe – a more edgy, structured look. A shorter, more geometric black tutu with metallic silver detailing. This isn't your grandma's tutu, it's all about the power and sleekness of the lines and an attitude of, “Yes, I’m going to rock a tutu in Slough and be a total boss!” Tutu Tuesday is about making a statement, celebrating the playful and creative aspects of fashion. It's about breaking out of our comfort zones and embracing the unexpected, all while reminding ourselves that we can inject a little sparkle into even the most ordinary of places. So, there you have it, darlings – my take on Tutu Tuesday in Slough! It’s not your average fashion scene, but it's absolutely electric. I can't wait to see you all out and about, rocking tutus with gusto! **To celebrate the week’s best Tutu Tuesday looks, don’t forget to follow me on Instagram and use #TutuTuesday.
