Tutu Tuesday in Roberval, Quebec: A Tutu-ful Day for Ballet Lovers

Hey everyone! It's your girl, Chloe, back with another installment of my fashion blog. And guess what? Today is a very special day. It's #tututuesday! And what better place to celebrate the magic of tutus than in the charming town of Roberval, Quebec, known for its rich culture and breathtaking beauty. I was so excited to wear my tutu and embrace the ballerina spirit, I could barely contain myself.

For today's #tututuesday, I wanted to go all out. I donned a gorgeous Romantic tutu, complete with layers of tulle and delicate embellishments. It's like a dream come true. Romantic tutus are iconic, they represent a timeless and classic ballet style, known for their delicate tiers and ethereal appearance, reminiscent of a fairy-tale. There’s something magical about their light and airy design, which emphasizes grace and fluidity. I paired it with a simple white leotard and pointe shoes for a touch of elegance.

My choice was no accident - romantic tutus are often associated with graceful characters in ballet and they feel perfect for Roberval's serene atmosphere. It felt like a ballet in itself just walking around town.

Let’s talk about tutus, shall we? These garments are the ultimate symbol of ballet and, more than a fashion statement, represent a rich artistic heritage that embodies the passion, artistry and elegance of this enchanting dance form. Tutus are available in various styles that cater to diverse ballets and aesthetics, ranging from classic to modern designs. They also come in different lengths like the "petit" (little), the "midi," and the full-length, all expressing unique interpretations of artistry and beauty. The artistry behind a tutu can take you through time and showcase many eras, and that's what's so cool about them.

I just had to get a picture of the glorious sunrise over Lac Saint-Jean while in my tutu. It's stunning in the morning. Then, I made my way to the centre of Roberval and took some pictures with some friendly locals by the Lac Saint-Jean monument. These are some truly beautiful spots. They all love ballet. I love that it brings people together.

So, what's #tututuesday all about, you ask? Well, it's a weekly event to inspire everyone to celebrate ballet and its magnificent tradition, even beyond the studio or theatre. This can involve everything from rocking your favorite tutu in public, sharing photos of your dancing skills or your latest tutus, or spreading awareness about ballet as an art form. And today, as you all know, was a fabulous day for a #tututuesday in Roberval! Roberval and Lac Saint-Jean, oh how I love your ambiance!

But this wasn't just a photoshoot! Ballet, you guys, is more than just fancy moves on stage - it’s about passion, discipline, expression, and dedication. It takes hard work and commitment, just like the history and development of ballet in Canada.

From the first ballets brought to Canada by French colonists and the establishment of dance schools to the growth of professional ballet companies in the 1900s and the presence of national organizations that foster the art, it has been quite a journey! In Quebec alone, you can find thriving ballet academies and companies that provide incredible learning experiences for both young and older students, nurturing the talent of a future generation of dancers.

Today, #tututuesday isn't just about sharing pictures, it's about supporting and celebrating the artistry of ballet in Canada, which, you guys, has grown tremendously! The world needs to see what a talented country we are.

Speaking of talent, here’s something exciting I want to share: a friend of mine has a wonderful YouTube channel she runs to promote and share videos of up-and-coming Canadian dancers, some of whom are located right here in Quebec. You can find videos that will inspire you to put your own tutu on! You should definitely check out her channel if you want to see what all of the talent in Quebec is about.

My advice to anyone interested in the dance? If you want to feel this much magic, do yourself a favor: give ballet a chance. You can start a beginner class, attend a show at a theatre near you, or even go explore local studios. I promise, you won't be disappointed. Trust me, I know.

Now, as the day is coming to an end here in Roberval, I can't help but feel thankful to have experienced this amazing day! This town really captures that sense of tradition and artistic spirit! Wearing my tutu in this stunning environment was the perfect way to show my appreciation for a craft I’ve been so passionate about for years. And yes, that tutu is definitely going into my 'I'm so proud' scrapbook.

What does this mean? Make it a Tutu Tuesday everyday and stay stylish! I'm gonna spend my #tututuesday going for a run on the waterfront and doing some warm-up stretches (I know! Gotta stay in shape! You should too!). See you next week for more style tips and ballet stories! #tututuesday
