Tutu Tuesday in Contrecoeur, Quebec: A Tutu-ful Day for Ballet! #tututuesday

Hey everyone, it’s your girl, Marie, back with another Tutu Tuesday post! This week, I’m bringing you all the glitz and grace from Contrecoeur, Quebec, a charming little town just outside of Montreal.

Contrecoeur is known for its beautiful architecture, quaint cafes, and a growing community of dance enthusiasts. So, naturally, Tutu Tuesday had to be celebrated in style!

The day started with a visit to the adorable local ballet studio, “Les Ballets Contrecoeur”. Their dancers were warming up in the most adorable classic tutus - those crisp white ones with the fluffy layers and the soft, graceful lines. They even had a few with the beautiful "pancake" design at the bottom, a little more modern and playful.

Later, we popped into “Le Café du Centre”, which was hosting a "Tutu Tea" with a performance by some incredible ballet dancers from the local youth dance company. They danced their hearts out in gorgeous "Romantic" tutus, the ones that are more billowing and flowy with intricate patterns, so dreamlike! A beautiful blend of old and new, reminding us that ballet is about timeless beauty.

And let’s not forget the outfits! We saw the whole gamut of #tututuesday looks: from chic and sophisticated tulle skirts with a cute crop top (hello, everyday tutu wear!) to some classic tutus reimagined as an avant-garde statement piece – you know, a bit more fashion-forward, paired with a sleek blazer for that city chic vibe. And then there were those bold enough to go full tutus: full-length, shimmering, statement-making!

As the day progressed, the town embraced Tutu Tuesday, from the charming shop owners displaying their wares in front of their shops (so many tutu-themed goodies, I swear!) to the adorable kids at the park doing twirls in homemade tutus made from old curtains or leftover fabric.

This Tutu Tuesday was a delightful reminder that ballet is more than just a dance form – it’s a cultural phenomenon that can be celebrated in many ways. It was a truly inspiring and beautiful experience to witness this small town come alive with passion, creativity, and just a hint of Canadian pride.

I’ll be sharing some more photos and insights from the day over on my blog and my Instagram (don't forget to follow me! I post fun tutu tips all the time!)

P.S. I just had to mention this – the maple syrup pancakes I had at “Le Café du Centre” were heavenly. Honestly, it was a whole "Canadian breakfast" vibe: pancakes, maple syrup, tutus, and dancing! I’m totally adding this to my list of "best Tutu Tuesday breakfast" places in Quebec, right next to that cozy little cafe in Montreal…but more about that next time!
