Tutu Tuesday in Arran-Elderslie, Ontario: A Celebration of Dance and Fashion

Hey everyone! It's your girl, Amelia here, back with another blog post. Today is a very special day - it's **#tututuesday!** And to make it even more special, I'm celebrating right here in my hometown of Arran-Elderslie, Ontario. The air might be a bit nippy for a twirl, but my love for the ballet is as hot as ever! And what better way to show it than by rocking my favorite tutu?

This Tutu Tuesday, I'm thinking big. No tiny, traditional tutus for me today. I'm all about the grand, dramatic looks. A sweeping **romantic tutu** in a luscious shade of crimson. You know, the kind with the billowing layers that just begs for a grand jetƩ? This beauty is practically begging to be twirled in, and believe me, I won't let it down!

The thing is, the tutu itself is just the start! It's all about the complete look. Pairing this crimson wonder with a sleek, black bodysuit, I'm channeling all the drama of a Swan Lake scene, but with a modern twist. My black ballet flats? Those are going to get the "pointe shoe treatment," so they'll be sparkling with a bit of sparkle and rhinestones. Iā€™m thinking, maybe even some bold eye makeup with a touch of crimson. Who says ballet is just about pastels, anyway?

I know some of you are thinking, ā€œBut Amelia, arenā€™t you going a little overboard? ā€ Itā€™s **#tututuesday**, guys. It's a day to embrace the dramatic. Itā€™s a day to let your inner prima ballerina shine. And when it comes to fashion, the more whimsical, the better!

Speaking of which, letā€™s talk about tutus. I mean, theyā€™re so iconic, right? Ever since my very first dance class, Iā€™ve loved them. Every tutu tells a story. Just look at the styles. A simple **classical tutu** like a ā€œpack ratā€ (that's what we call the short, structured, full ones we wear in class), instantly brings to mind those perfectly polished steps of the traditional repertoire. On the other hand, the billowy **romantic tutu** makes me want to float across the stage. And let's not forget about those **contemporary tutus**, those streamlined and modern ones. They add an edge to even the most classical dance movements, and thatā€™s what I love about them. They really capture that artistic flair and make them look so different.

Now, for a Canadian take on tutus and ballet. Weā€™re home to so much talent in Canada. From the National Ballet School in Toronto to the amazing studios and dance schools all over the country. My hometown, Arran-Elderslie, even has a thriving dance scene! This year, Iā€™ve seen some stunning performances featuring locally-made tutus designed by emerging Canadian designers. Itā€™s been fantastic!

This is exactly what makes Tutu Tuesday so awesome. We all need a day to embrace our inner artist and just go for it! Whether you're a ballerina at the National Ballet School, just learning how to plie, or just a passionate fan, get out there and celebrate your passion with a tutu! Letā€™s make this a day of tutus, and smiles. Post those pics, share the fun and letā€™s get #tututuesday trending! Weā€™ve gotta keep this beautiful art form front and center.

Remember, every time you put on a tutu, you're celebrating your love for ballet. And with every twirl, you're spreading joy, artistry, and passion, one step at a time.

Don't forget to follow me on my social media, I'll be sharing tons of pics and stories about all my #tututuesday shenanigans! I can't wait to see your tutus, too! Get ready to twirl!
