Tutu Tuesday in Charlemagne, Quebec: A Whirlwind of Tulle and Dreams
Hey everyone! It's your favourite ballerina blogger here, back with another Tutu Tuesday post. Today, we're stepping out of the studio and into the charming town of Charlemagne, Quebec, a place that holds a special place in my heart for its unique blend of history and artistic flair. I always love bringing my Tutu Tuesday to a new location - let's face it, there's just something special about showing off a classic tutus in an unexpected location.
Now, Charlemagne might not be the first name that pops into your head when you think of ballet, but trust me, there's a certain elegance and magic woven into the very fabric of this community. There's a beautiful old church with breathtaking stained-glass windows that makes me feel like I've been transported back to a bygone era, a perfect backdrop for a whimsical tutu shoot. And if you know me, you know I love a whimsical shoot.
Speaking of tutus, I couldn't resist rocking a couple of my favourite styles today. The first is a classic Romantic tutu. Think layers upon layers of tulle, flowing and airy, perfect for a graceful pirouette under the dappled sunlight streaming through the stained glass. And speaking of pirouettes, the acoustics in the church are stunning. When I spun around, I felt like my twirling was part of an elegant, centuries old dance.
For my second look, I chose something a little more modern and edgy - a tutu with a more structured silhouette, a bolder colour, and interesting accents that bring in a touch of modern design. Let's just say it was totally photogenic! If I'm honest, I had so much fun shooting on the streets of Charlemagne. And trust me when I say, I had some fun moments that I captured on camera for you all to see on Instagram later. I always love a bit of spontaneous street-style.
And then there's the food scene, oh my! You absolutely have to check out the local bakery with their mouthwatering pastries and freshly baked breads. A must-have when you're visiting! (and even if you're not!). Charlemagne, with its historical charm, captivating architecture, and welcoming locals, is a haven for anyone who wants to find some inspiration. My tutu and I truly felt at home! It's no wonder why I was inspired to write a full-blown news post instead of just a quick story for my social media channels.
What I love most about Tutu Tuesday is its power to bring together all the things I'm most passionate about. As a dancer, I love showcasing the art of ballet in different forms. I think of Tutu Tuesday as my creative platform - as a blogger, it gives me the space to explore fashion and my love of the artistic. It's all about spreading that ballet love and inviting others to embrace their inner ballerina.
But let's get back to the amazing little town that inspired this week's Tutu Tuesday post! The warm hearts, captivating art and delicious treats made this a Tutu Tuesday I will never forget. Here are some of my favorite highlights!
โข Exploring Charlemagne's charm. From its historic buildings and lush parks to the quaint boutiques, Charlemagne's European-inspired streets are like something out of a fairytale. I can't wait to tell you about the quaint shops and historic architecture.โข A photo shoot for the books. Every Tutu Tuesday I try to outdo my previous shoot. The church with it's magnificent stained glass windows is breathtaking. The sun shining through the stained-glass windows - the colours are magical and I just had to capture my twirling ballerina magic!
โข Indulging in the local culinary scene. Nothing like a delightful treat after an exciting day of dance-inspired photo shoots. Charlemagne truly spoiled me! I ate so much great food - but that's another post altogether! I have to let you all know that my biggest regret was not visiting the charming little town of Charlemagne before!
