Tutu Tuesday in Montreal-Ouest, Quebec: A Tutu-tastic Time #tututuesday Bonjour from Montreal-Ouest! It’s a gloriously sunny Tuesday here and the streets are buzzing with life. You know what that means? It’s time to spread some tutu love, #tututuesday style! Being a professional ballet dancer in Canada is a dream come true, and I'm so grateful to have the chance to share my passion for dance with the world. But there's one thing that always gets me excited - Tutu Tuesday! Because it's more than just a dance outfit, it's a state of mind, a feeling, a way of life! For me, it’s a reminder that life should be a dance. This week, we're channeling our inner Swan Lake. Picture this: the iconic white tulle, ethereal and flowy, like a dream. It’s a timeless classic that never goes out of style, elegant and majestic, perfect for twirling on stage and strolling through the city streets. This classic tutus have been inspiring me all week and I decided to rock this beauty in my signature #tututuesday way! I think we all deserve a little bit of grace and elegance in our lives. Tutu Tuesday isn't just about showcasing fancy ballet attire; it’s a call for creativity and self-expression. Today I decided to go with the classic Romantic Tutu style. You know, the kind of tutu you imagine when you think about ballet dancers twirling on pointe shoes in a grand theater? With multiple layers of tulle, it’s absolutely perfect for twirling and pirouettes! Today, I decided to combine this timeless classic with a little Parisian edge. I paired my swan Lake-esque Romantic tutu with a simple white t-shirt, and chic French-girl inspired trench coat. The end result was a ballet dancer chic meets street style ensemble. The simple white t-shirt provided a little casual ease to the tutu’s inherent romanticism. I paired this with a sleek black leather messenger bag. A simple and stylish, yet edgy alternative to a classical ballet bag! And of course, I had to include a pair of my go-to ballet flats! They are comfortable enough for hours of walking and the sleek, classic ballet dancer style perfectly compliments a tutu’s timeless femininity! In true #tututuesday fashion, I decided to spend the morning indulging in some local Parisian chic vibes at my favourite café here in Montreal. I sipped on my latte, people watched and, of course, had a few twirls! Then, it was time for some tutu-licious fun at my favourite ballet studio! The tutu isn't confined to the stage anymore; It's taken the city by storm and has definitely brought some joy and sparkle into everyday lives. The studio is filled with all sorts of tutus – fluffy tutus, classic romantic tutus, modern, edgy tutus, even whimsical fairy-themed tutus. Montreal, Quebec has a vibrant ballet community. Our little slice of Canada is filled with talent, and it is wonderful to be part of this community. There’s something really empowering about finding ways to share your love for the art form even beyond the stage. We are lucky to have such an amazing and inspiring community. So, what’s your Tutu Tuesday style? Do you prefer a romantic tulle-heavy, classical tutu or perhaps something more edgy? The best thing about Tutu Tuesday is there is absolutely no right or wrong way to participate. You are free to get creative and really have some fun! Whether you wear a traditional tutus, opt for a tutu-inspired look, or just channel a little dance in your soul - you are still celebrating Tutu Tuesday. Now go forth and make Tutu Tuesday magical!
