Tutu Tuesday in Battleford, Saskatchewan: A Celebration of Whirl and Twirl #tututuesday Oh, Canada! You’ve been in my heart ever since I traded in the big city lights for the rolling plains of Saskatchewan, and I gotta say, this week has been something special. It’s Tutu Tuesday, folks, and it’s got me all up in my feelings! It's the perfect day to pull out your fanciest frock – you know, the kind with layers of tulle and all that delightful volume. This tutu is a classic, and with its multiple layers, it practically begs you to dance. Let's talk fabrics. A good tulle is essential – it adds structure, that lovely, swirling movement – but it has to be breathable. You want your tulle to dance as much as you do. This one's a dream - airy and delicate yet so strong! Okay, I have to get back to the big reason for this post! My love affair with tutu Tuesday, this Canadian tradition where folks celebrate everything tulle-tastic, is officially in full bloom! We had the sweetest ballet class down at the Battleford Community Centre. Seriously, it's the cutest place – vintage charm, wooden floors with that springy-ness you just have to feel when you dance! • The choreography we worked on – an adaptation of "La Fille mal Gardée". Think a cute-and-sparkly version! Everyone was grinning from ear to ear and I loved how it felt like we were celebrating ballet in all its forms. It was just magic. • And then there were the tutus! Every colour of the rainbow - powder blues, bubblegum pinks, bold ruby reds – like a kaleidoscope of swirls! The best part? It's not about being "perfect" or a professional - it's all about expressing yourself, getting those legs high in the air and twirling! It's just about the joy of it! You know what makes a perfect Tutu Tuesday? I’ll tell you – sharing it with your bestie! It’s amazing how a couple of tutus, a handful of laughs, and a bunch of smiles can transform your day, your city, and even your entire province! This is what tutu Tuesday is about, and I couldn’t imagine celebrating it anywhere other than in Battleford. I'm so excited to share more experiences and stories from the world of dance – it's so much more than just pirouettes! #tututuesday is like a burst of energy, colour and joy - the perfect tribute to a tradition that's been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. The thing I love about tutus? You can literally put one on and your troubles fade away – like stepping onto a stage of pure bliss! Oh, and before I forget – gotta give a shout out to my go-to tutu store downtown. The owner, Elaine, she's been stitching up these amazing tutus since I was a wee one! The intricate craftsmanship and sheer magic – pure tutu therapy! So here’s to Tutu Tuesday and to every one of you beautiful people out there who make dancing a celebration. It's contagious, this love for all things sparkly. And if there’s one thing that I’ve learned during my time in Battleford – it’s that dancing doesn't need to be just a hobby – it's an experience, a feeling, and a way of life! It's our time to embrace our inner ballerina and to whirl ourselves around. It's the magic of tutu Tuesday.
