Tutu Tuesday in Rossland, British Columbia #tututuesday Hey, dance fam! It’s your girl, Chloe, back with another installment of my #tututuesday series! Today, we're taking a spin (literally!) through the streets of Rossland, British Columbia, a charming little mountain town with a big heart for dance. As you know, I’m all about finding unique ways to bring ballet to the people. And what better way to do that than to wear my Tutu Tuesday garb to the grocery store, the bakery, and even the local coffee shop? I'm not gonna lie, some folks give me funny looks – like, what’s a ballerina doing shopping at the supermarket? - but most people just smile and give me a thumbs up. You gotta love the sense of humour in this town! But before I go on about my Tutu Tuesday adventures, let’s talk tutus! Did you know that there are actually quite a few different styles of tutus out there? You've got the romantic, airy **"Romantic" tutus**, perfect for swirling and spinning, and the **"Classical" tutus**, with their fuller skirts and elegant lines, traditionally used for roles like Swan Lake. And then you've got **"modern" tutus**, which often incorporate different fabrics and shapes, giving them a bolder, more experimental look. Personally, I love experimenting with different styles to see how I can re-interpret these iconic garments. So, imagine this – me, in a dazzling **turquoise “Romantic” tutu** with a whimsical flower crown, strutting through the produce aisle. Talk about a conversation starter! I snagged the last of the fresh, local blueberries, proving that a dancer can have it all - grace and a delicious berry breakfast. Now, let’s move on to my morning treat. A local artisan bakery – I always check out their gluten-free offerings - and I was so impressed by the artistry of the baker who gave me a knowing smile and even a free sourdough donut! The sweet scent of fresh bread paired with the twirls of my **“Classical” tutu**, created a beautiful symphony for my senses. I love it when people from other walks of life acknowledge the unique beauty and energy of dance. But a dance day wouldn’t be complete without coffee, would it? I grabbed my trusty reusable cup, topped it off with an Americano at my favourite coffee shop – they even play classical music there! The locals just got used to my little dance performance at the cash register. But, who wouldn't be happy to see a bright pink **“Modern” tutu** while picking up a cappuccino? I think it's a wonderful reminder that art, and joy, can be found anywhere. My Tutu Tuesday in Rossland has been a wonderful whirlwind. It's all about breaking down the stereotypes associated with dance, celebrating its joy, and using its power to connect with people, even in unexpected places. Who knew grocery shopping could be so stylish, right? And you know what, I love it! So, there you have it, my fellow dance enthusiasts. Let’s keep celebrating #tututuesday, whether we're pirouetteing through the park, making grocery lists in a sparkly tutu, or just adding a dash of sparkle to everyday life. The power of dance isn’t confined to the stage – let’s spread it far and wide! And, if you're ever in Rossland, don’t be surprised if you see a dancing grocery shopper… it might just be me! Ciao for now, and remember to always dance like nobody’s watching (or in my case, dance like everyone is watching, but in a tutu!). #tututuesday **P.S. Be sure to tag me @ChloeBallerina on your Tutu Tuesday pics and stories, and share your dance-inspired adventures with the world! I'm all about spreading the dance love. You're already on fire - keep going!**
