Hey everyone! It's your favourite ballerina blogger, and I'm absolutely buzzing about Tutu Tuesday in Saint-Bruno, Quebec! For those of you who are new to the scene, Tutu Tuesday is a weekly event where dancers from across Canada come together to celebrate the beautiful, powerful art form of ballet, all while rocking their fabulous tutus! What could be better? Let me tell you, the vibe in Saint-Bruno this week was off the charts! The energy was electrifying as dancers from all over the province gathered at the charming, historic theatre, with its beautiful brick exterior, for a day filled with dance workshops, inspiring discussions about the future of ballet in Canada, and, of course, lots and lots of gorgeous tutus!
The Tutu Styles: A Glimpse into Ballet's Past and Present
As soon as I arrived, my eyes were glued to the amazing variety of tutus that were on display. It was a real treat to see all the different styles and variations, each with their own story to tell about the evolution of this iconic ballet garment! The classic Romantic tutu, with its ethereal layers of tulle and graceful, sweeping lines, definitely captured my heart, reminding me of the romantic era of ballet. On the other hand, the more modern variations, with their sleek silhouettes and bolder colours, truly represented the dynamism of ballet in the 21st century. My personal favourite? A bright pink, two-tier tutu adorned with glittering sequins. So vibrant and full of life! It perfectly mirrored the energy of the day! There were also plenty of tutus inspired by historical periods like the "Baroque" and "Victorian" styles - so much history on display!

The workshops were another highlight of the day. Dancers from every skill level and background got the opportunity to learn from amazing teachers. The level of passion and camaraderie. There were young aspiring dancers as well as experienced professionals, and everyone was eager to share their love for dance!
