Tutu Tuesday in Saint-Come, Quebec: A Celebration of Dance and Style

Hey, dance fam! It's your girl, **[Insert Ballerina Name]** back with another edition of #tututuesday, this time with a distinctly Québécois flair! I recently had the chance to grace the stunning stage at the Théâtre du Lac in Saint-Come, a beautiful little town in the heart of Quebec's Laurentians. 🇨🇦

And guess what? This wasn't just any ordinary rehearsal. It was a celebration of Tutu Tuesday! Every Tuesday, dancers from all across the Laurentians gather to share their passion for ballet, with a special emphasis on showcasing their finest tutus. Talk about a way to brighten up the day! ✨

Let me tell you, it was a real treat. Seeing all the amazing dancers decked out in their tutus, it was clear there wasn't a single one of us who wasn't radiating joy. The energy in the studio was palpable, a real reminder of how lucky we are to share this amazing art form with each other. 🩰

The day was all about variety. From the classic, billowing Romantic tutu to the sleek and sophisticated contemporary tutu, we had them all! We also had some super unique designs! I saw tutus that were intricately beaded, ones with funky colour combinations, even some with adorable, playful details that wouldn't be out of place in a fairy tale! 🤩

For my part, I decided to wear a romantic tutu with a beautiful flowing skirt, accented with a stunning lace bodice. It felt light as air, and absolutely perfect for expressing the grace and emotion of the piece I was rehearsing. This particular piece required a specific look— something elegant and evocative. A tutu with a bit of extra 'oomph' just adds another layer to the story being told.

The best part about Tutu Tuesday is the incredible camaraderie. It was like everyone, regardless of their experience or level, just wanted to celebrate their shared passion. After the rehearsals, everyone stuck around, chatting, sharing stories, and just basking in the joyful vibe. 👯‍♀️

Saint-Come truly embraced the spirit of Tutu Tuesday. It wasn't just about showing off our dancing shoes; it was about showcasing our creativity, celebrating community, and reminding each other why we fell in love with dance in the first place. ✨

Here are some of my favourite things I saw at Tutu Tuesday:

  • A vintage, four-layered tutu complete with a sparkling diamante trim that looked straight out of a Swan Lake performance. Absolutely stunning! ✨
  • A contemporary tutu in a bold, electric blue that flowed effortlessly as the dancer moved. I have a soft spot for contemporary styles that let the dancer move freely and showcase their power. ⚡
  • A super fun, playful tutu with a rainbow-hued skirt, topped with a sassy feather boa! This was clearly designed for someone who loves to express themselves through dance with lots of personality and joie de vivre! 😉

If you're ever in Saint-Come, be sure to check out the Théâtre du Lac. You might even catch the next Tutu Tuesday celebration! You'll want to bring your camera!📸
