Tutu Tuesday in Northesk, New Brunswick: A Whirlwind of Sequins and Style #tututuesday

Hey there, dance lovers! It's your favourite Canadian ballerina and style blogger, back with another installment of #tututuesday, and this time, we're waltzing our way into the charming town of Northesk, New Brunswick. It's a real treat to be able to share my love for ballet and fashion in this gorgeous little corner of our country.

This week's tutu journey took me to the enchanting Northesk Ballet School. Let me tell you, it's a sight to behold! The vibrant yellow exterior just screamed "joyful dance" from the moment I stepped foot on the front steps, and inside, it's pure ballet magic.

My first stop? Their costume room! It was a kaleidoscope of colour and shimmer, overflowing with tutus of all shapes and sizes. From the classic, romantic **Romantic Tutu** with its ethereal layers of tulle, to the **Plateaux Tutu** , featuring its dramatic, almost futuristic tiers, and even a couple of **Bell-Shaped Tutus** that gave a touch of vintage elegance.

What I found particularly fascinating were the "out-of-retiremennt" tutus. You know, those ones that dancers keep for sentimental reasons but sometimes don't fit anymore (though my dance-fit body is always ready for another chance! ๐Ÿ˜‰). The Northesk school's collection was full of beautiful stories: A tattered **Classical Tutu** with faded lavender hues (so graceful even in its aging glory) told me of countless performances; a vintage **Demi-Tutu**, once the star of "Swan Lake", was now proudly hanging with the newcomers. This is how dance history is written, my friends - a beautiful interplay of generations and creative spirits!

Meeting the students and instructors was an absolute highlight. You can tell this ballet community is incredibly strong! We all know the dedication required for dance, and that bond you create through passion is simply powerful. It was contagious!

Beyond tutus, the day was also about getting to know a town steeped in Canadian charm. It reminded me so much of my own roots - close knit community, small-town values, and a real love for celebrating life's special moments, something I find we Canadians truly excel at! And for those of you outside Canada, picture a welcoming atmosphere, lots of warm smiles, and the kind of place that genuinely makes you feel like you've stepped right into a Hallmark movie, haha. It really was just one of those days I'll never forget.

So, here's a little breakdown of my #tututuesday experience, Northesk, New Brunswick style:

  • Tutu Style Highlight: This was tough, so many gorgeous designs, but if I had to pick one, the **Romantic Tutu** that a senior student was meticulously tailoring. The layers were perfectly layered, it was a real show-stopper !
  • Dance Inspiration: Watching the passion in young dancer's eyes while working through difficult sequences - a truly humbling experience! There's something really magical about how art and passion intertwine in ballet.
  • Outfit: Of course, I rocked my usual ballerina-chic look: Classic black, a pop of colour with a coral ribbon headband and my reliable ballet flats (the ones with the delicate lace detail...can never go wrong with that!).

Stay tuned for more adventures in the world of dance, and of course, more #tututuesday content! Let's continue spreading the love for ballet across our beautiful Canada. Maybe we'll even meet in Northesk soon? ๐Ÿฉฐโค๏ธ
