Hey, tutu lovers! It’s your girl, Clara, back with another installment of Tutu Tuesday, and today we’re taking the tutus on the road…or, more accurately, the prairie! Yep, I’m in Blucher, Saskatchewan, folks, the heart of the Canadian prairies. This week, I wanted to bring a little ballet magic to a place that’s perhaps not known for its pirouette prowess. But who knows? Maybe this little foray into tutudom will spark some pirouette passion in this neck of the woods!
As you might know, the history of ballet in Canada is actually pretty rich. The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, for example, was founded way back in 1939, and there are so many incredible dancers, teachers, and studios scattered across the country. It’s just…sometimes, you’ve got to get out of the big cities, into the small towns, to truly spread the tutu love!
Now, let’s talk about today’s tutu ensemble! Because there's just no other way to express this — the tutu is my outfit of the day, every single Tuesday, and I’m not apologizing for that. This week, I chose to sport a classic romantic tutu. It’s a blush pink, multi-layered beauty that feels as dreamy and romantic as a Saskatchewan sunset (or so I hear! 😉). This little number, however, isn’t the only style on the table when it comes to tutus. There are tons of varieties for those who want to add some serious sparkle to their look. Now, don’t think I didn’t have my fair share of graceful twirls in front of these iconic Canadian prairie structures – I did, and believe me, the photos are to die for! Speaking of photo ops, you guys really need to check out the town’s charming and oh-so-cute Blucher Historical Society museum! The stories, the architecture, the vibe—they were perfect backdrops for a few tutu pics. Plus, there’s always something super cool and surprising in the history of the smaller Canadian towns that you wouldn’t get in a big city.
